Joe Scarborough often touts his deep roots in the gun culture, growing up in the South. But either he never knew as much about guns as he’s claimed, or his passion for gun control has made him forget or ignore what he once knew.
On today’s Morning Joe, Scarborough repeatedly claimed that the AR-15, used in Parkland and in other mass shootings, is “more lethal” than the M-16. H/t FReeper SnuffaBolshevik.

Correct. He came of age when President Reagan was sending out the call for young men to join the military we were trying to rebuild. Joe ignored the call.
Someone needs to get him to push a conversion program from AR15 to M16.
Circa 1988-89, the M16 was issued in the A2 version - 3 round burst.

The weapon used at Parkland is called an AR-15. Is it really a military grade assault weapon, or is it a more traditional rifle that a manufacturer dressed up with a fancy exterior to appeal to those who like that look? We all assume it is an AR-15 because that is how the weapon is described. I would like to know if calling it an AR-15 makes it an AR-15.
Someone needs to take a 2x4 and knock some sense into this idiots head cause he is spouting nothing more than utter idiocy.
Our generation was tough. We knew the difference between an AR-15 and an M-16, and we did clowns for breakfast!
