Refusing to endorse someone who is 99.9% certain to win the seat would be idiotic.

It's actually remarkable to see how far Romney has fallen, when you think about it. He went from presidential contender in 2012 to a candidate for a barely consequential seat in the U.S. Senate in 2018.

Endorsing him for this seat is like wishing him the best of luck in the Special Olympics.

Romney’s a shoo-in for winning the seat. He may be inconsequential at first, but after a few terms in the Senate he will build up seniority and start to matter. He might even become chairman of a committee.
