Yes, please, Mr. Paul.
Flake and Durbin can go straight to hell. Veto bait.
Apparently the current Senate bill does not end Chain Emigration or the Visa Lottery (just ‘reforms’ them), nor does it end DACA. It does supply money for a border barrier and for more enforcement.
So this is like all the other previous Immigration bills - the first parts (immigration) get enacted and the second parts (barriers and enforcement) never happen or only halfheartedly before they are killed entirely. And so the flood continues.
Pres. Trump has positioned himself as the key to any immigration bill. It would be political suicide for him to betray his constituents on this signature promise. I’m OK with a deal, but only if has huge immediate effect along with an assured long-term strategy. I have faith this can be obtained, especially with tools like E-verify: self-deportation is the answer.
Just the fact that Republicans are split between a sensible fellow R’s immigration bill and that of a far left Democrat like Durbin makes me want to puke.
Follow Grassley you idiots! The people spoke on what they want in regards to immigration when they elected the POTUS. Errr I’m so sick of the dang immigration subject. For goodness sake it’s not that hard! Pass a bill that puts American citizens best interests at heart it’s not that hard to figure it the right thing to do!

Given that two federal judges have ruled that Trump cannot end Obama’s executive order based DACA the issue should be consider solved, and unlike the Senate and House Dems those liberal judges didnt have to offer anything in return.
(no Wall, no family based immigration,...)
Dems say anything lib judges rule is the constitution so call them out on that.
Go for it, Rand Paul! I’m listening to CSPANs Washington Journal. Across the political spectrum, callers were overwhelming in favor of hardline solutions to the problem. There were also comments saying that EVerify violation penalties should be strengthened
Immigration deal isn’t a good idea. The courts will block the wall. Any amnesty or legalization process should be tied to 100% completion of the wall and that shouldn’t be negotiable.
Sponsor it in the Senate, Rand.
We all want to see Grahamnesty and Durbin cry.
I didn't care much for Rand Paul when he was first elected to the Senate, as he seemed like a capital "L" Libertarian rather than a conservative. Some Libertarians are worse than Democrats and establishment Republicans on immigration.
However, over the years Rand Paul has become much more of a Constitutional Conservative who has more often than not come around to the right side of most issues.
On DACA, I would just as soon not see any compromise to allow them to stay, but the House Bill that Paul is offering to sponsor is actually an improvement over what the President offered. It promises legal residency to about 700K anchor babies, as opposed to a path to citizenship for 1.8 million. That's the most we should offer the Democrats in exchange for a border wall, an end to chain migration, and an end to the lottery. If we're stuck with DACA anchor babies because of a need for political compromises, so be it, but we shouldn't expand DACA nor should these people ever be given citizenship or the vote - that just invites future illegals to come here in the hope of getting the same.
Even that bill isn’t at all “hard line”.
It creates many new work visas while legalizing Barry’s DACA “kids”—who you know will end up as voters and citizens, too.
