the maximum gross monthly income is 130% of the federal poverty level, which for a single-person household is $12,140 and $16,460 for a household of two.

Wow, that's quite a monthly income!

Had to read that twice. You’re right.

I’d settle for $11,000 a month!

Well, it depends. Are those numbers the monthly poverty level, or are they 130% of it?

About 1,000 per month for a single person. Which with few studio apt. being under $ 700, plus utilities around here likely means that most poor with a income of 12,000 have another source, welfare and or share.
