“The teachers lounge bathroom was off limits to students and no pupils were at risk.”

Because kids NEVER go anywhere that’s off limits.

Oh good God.

I’d be asking, why is a mere “parent” in the faculty room?

Indeed, one does not expect children in there at all, but yeah, one does need to be careful.

Slap on the wrist.

Our Chief of Police lost his gun in the library restroom and it is still missing.

Needless to say he does not show up at the monthly Coffee With A Cop meetings.

Why was it out of its holster?

Why didn’t she check her holster before leaving the restroom?

Clearly she doesn’t keep it holstered on her person regularly. If she did, she would have noticed the missing weight of her firearm.

Who will patrol and protect my resources ?

WTF I have heard of the term before, but I don’t understand it.

All I can think of is my number 1 corporate enemy, “Human Resources” which is what they call “People” when they want to strip them of value, converting them into numbers in a chart.

If your gun is in a holster, why would you take the gun out to go to the bathroom? (I don’t know anything about guns and holsters)

Loaded? In an elementary school. And soldiers aren't permitted to have loaded guns on bases (wasn't too long ago a base got shot up but soldiers had no arms). Send this resource officer to some common sense training.

If your gun is in a holster, why would you take the gun out to go to the bathroom?

Assuming it's on your belt - the short answer is so it doesn't go ker-plunk in the toilet as you're sitting down. When you - how do I put this delicately? - lower your trousers, the grip, normally carried on top, can twist as the belt loosens (it's heavier than the barrel end) and actually end up pointing downward, and if it doesn't fit quite closely enough, the gun can slide out. I know what you're thinking, and no, you cannot make the problem go away by repeatedly flushing the toilet, although a friend of mind did end up disposing of his obnoxious pager that way...

I'm not saying it's acceptable, but if you are around law enforcement long enough, you will hear stories about the absent minded agent leaving his gun in a restroom. Marines are rated on a personal characteristic called “Presence of Mind.” It means having the ability to be aware of your surroundings and concentrate and focus on what you are doing. It's hard to do at a 100% level 100% of the time.

Don’t most stalls have a coat hook on the inside of the door?
If she was going into a stall why leave it on the sink if not going to lock door?

She says she noticed it ‘ALMOST’ immediately YET someone else had enough time to find it and notify the office of same.

That sort of tells me the ‘gun owner’ was more than a step or two away from the head.

Have to go ‘Full Metal Jacket’ on her and make Privatress Pyle carry it at all times, even to bed, while sucking her thumb with pants around ankles.

I know it is strictly CYA but the LAST excuse I would throw out there is
—no students in danger because the room was off limit —
Lets see teen agers
Unlocked room
‘forbidden’ to go in there

Yeah nothing could ‘go wrong here’.
