Wife and I both have it. I’m 66 and went to the doctor on Tuesday. I’ve taken all the meds and I’m going back to the doctor tomorrow. Don’t seem to be getting any better.
It took me three full weeks to get over it. I was sicker than I had been in many many years.
Flu has me down...4th day in bed....I went to a regular doc appointment on Monday...he checked lungs as standard protocol....no problems....gave blood later that afternoon. By Wed PM I knew something was going on...it’s NOT fun...but I tried some deep breathing today (best I could) and it seems to reduce the burning chest pain when I cough. Sore throat is PAINFUL. Lots of liquids...lots of Vit C and Vit D/K...hopefully tomorrow will be a better day. Hope you and wife start recovering...I’m 66 too. NO, did not get a flu shot. My MIL got diagnosed with Type A flu on Wed...yeah...she had had a flu shot.
It takes a good 10 days. Threw up for 3 days. Stomach started to calm down for a few days and it started all over again! Nasty bug.
I’m also 66, and I can tell you that this is real punch-in-the-face flu. Very debilitating and hung on for 10 days.
I am 69 with a low immune system due to several health issues, so this junk scares me. You and your wife have my prayers.
I still swear by homemade chicken soup.
You’re both in my prayers... and drink lots of fluids...
