McMaster: U.S. Must Be Prepared To 'Compel' Denuclearization Of North Korea

White House national security adviser H.R. McMaster says that the United States "must be prepared, if necessary, to compel the denuclearization of North Korea."

McMaster's comments, in an interview with the BBC that was posted on the Internet on December 19, were the latest indication that the United States is ready to use force at some point to remove the threat posed by Pyongyang's nuclear and missile programs.

Asked whether the United States is committed to a peaceful solution to the standoff with North Korea, McMaster said: "We're committed to a resolution. We want the resolution to be peaceful, but as [President Donald Trump] has said, all options are on the table.

"And we have to be prepared, if necessary, to compel the denuclearization of North Korea without the cooperation of that regime," he said, referring to North Korean leader Kim Jong Un's government.

McMaster called North Korea "a grave threat to all civilized people across the globe."

North Korea has carried out repeated nuclear and missile tests, violating UN Security Council resolutions and drawing international condemnation. It has boasted of developing a missile capable of carrying a nuclear warhead and reaching the mainland United States.

Trump has threatened that the United States will destroy North Korea if provoked.

That might be difficult without gunfire. It’s hard to imagine the latest in that line of filthy, dangerous psychopaths suddenly developing a conscience...or rationality.

Yeh, I don’t see a way to pull it off without huge number of casualties in Seoul. Although I suspect US and S Korean intelligence have mapped all the artillery sites zeroed in on Seoul there are several thousand of them. Don’t see how they can all be taken out before many, maybe most, get off a few rounds.

Don’t worry. The guns on the border can be silenced. I know how and hopefully, one or more of the military leaders have thought along the same lines.

Hopefully, the Chinese are onboard for a ground invasion in combination with our efforts. If not, then it is fire and brimstone time.

Nothing will happen until after the Olympics. The word compel was very deliberate. Last chance Rocket Man. Take all of your nuclear material and weapons to the port to be shipped out to the U.S. and we will take care of destroying all of your nuclear weapon industry for you. Otherwise, you will be destroyed along with everything else.

North Korea knows that since the days of the Korean war America has become more and more timid in actually doing something. We are so concerned in appeasing our new generation of liberals and those who sing the Coca-Cola commercial about world love...and vote Democrat. America has become a vicious lemming and will follow others to the path of least resistance to garner public approval.

However, with Trump’s regime, who knows?

Some mil guy in a different post said we do not know where all the arty pieces are located. However it is only the long range arty, rockets and missiles that need to be located. I think that he also said that most of NOKOs arty is unable to reach Seoul, so that’s a big number of tubes off the table.

Most people, especially libs do not understand the math here - some number of thousand dead SOKO civilians, US and SOKO troops vs some number of millions dead from a NOKO nuclear strike on LA, SF, and so on. Libs, headed by their Great Leader, Zero, believe that we can sustain several strikes and not have to retaliate because Lil Kim would have gotten all that violence out and everyone can celebrate peace in our time again.

This is the Chinese’ mess, and it would be safest for them to clean it up. A three step solution. Invade, capture their nuclear weapons, decapitate their government and replace it with a more pacifistic puppet government committed to economic and agricultural improvement, and leave.

The benefits to China would be tangible. Restoration of peace on their border, a lack of refugees or even a negative illegal alien Korean flow back from China to North Korea, a “safe” government that will not reunify with South Korea, and cooperate with the Chinese in all things, and a deescalation of the regional nuclear threat. Plus, soon North Korea would stop being an economic basket case consuming lots of Chinese aid, and start trading with China for what it wants.

It would allow the US to ignore the region a lot more as well, yet another benefit to the Chinese.

But President Trump needs to be very clear to China that either they clean up their mess, or the US will have to, and China will not enjoy that at all.

US will have to

And US has to punish China for not cleaning it up. China should get painful economic retaliation which can derail all of Xi's purported grand vision. That should be made clear to Xi.

While I’m not the “hawk” I was in my youth I still see no way around war with NK. It’s either that or accept them as a nuclear power. There is no middle ground.

To attack NK without any substantive aggression would be the worst mistake Trump could make. It could very well turn him into the next George Bush jr. He needs to ignore the neo-cons. Better yet....fire the neo-cons.

.........I suggest to Mr. McMaster that he put some thought into the incredible reports coming out of our Special Forces about the “feminization” of these fighting units. Essentially, we don’t have an effective Green Beret Force anymore.................according to these INSIDER reports that appear to be objective.

If my memory serves me correctly, Mr. McMaster is one of the perfumed prince Generals that have kissed Obama’s ass for years and gone along with policies designed to destroy the fighting effectiveness of our military. I think McMaster should fix his bayonet and lead the charge against the NORKS!!!

But what is their end game? They are never going to use nukes. It would invite their own complete destruction.

Yawn. When is Trump going to do something on immigration besides say he wants a DACA amnesty deal?

It should be possible just from weapons that are publicly known.

GBU-57 massive ordnance penetrators were built to address dug in Nork artillery. The pressure wave will be immense, no need for direct hits. And MOABs have proved effective against tunnel complexes.

Norks can’t see the stealth aircraft that will hit them. Electronic warfare will blind them to everything that follows on, planes, cruise missiles.

And there’s the rumored kinetic weapons. Maybe not so rumored since Mattis spoke of them though not in detail. It’s possible something like that triggered the Oct 10 earthquake that killed a hundred or so Nork nuclear technicians.
