Charges against Flynn detailed
FoxNews ^ | December 1, 2017 | Judson Berger

Posted on 12/01/2017 8:21:21 AM PST by OldGuard1

According to the charging document, those false statements were that:

"On or about Dec 29, 2016, FLYNN did not ask the Government of Russia’s Ambassador to the United States ... to refrain from escalating the situation in response to sanctions that the United States had imposed against Russia that same day; and FLYNN did not recall the Russian Ambassador subsequently telling him that Russia had chosen to moderate its response to those sanctions as a result of his request."

"On or about December 22, 2016, FLYNN did not ask the Russian Ambassador to delay the vote on or defeat a pending United Nations Security Council resolution; and that the Russian Ambassador subsequently never described to FLYNN Russia’s response to his request.”

The bigger question is ... Why would he lie about it?

I'm still scratching my head over all the nonsense from Freepers over the last 18 months who insisted this guy Flynn was an upstanding character. When you're supporting a presidential candidate who is promising to "drain the swamp," you don't hitch your wagon to some A-hole who has been living in that swamp for years.

You are missing the fact that this crap is exactly the excuse Wall St. needs for their bubble to burst.

Way to go Democrats.

Outside of the Manafort tax issue (years before Trump) this will end up as nothing but a perjury factory unless it gets shut down and fast.

Well, you might have said it “from the beginning” but you have a key fact wrong. Trump did not name (appoint) Mueller. That was a maneuver by the Swamp set in motion by the Sessions recusal, then his deputy recommending Comey’s firing, then Comey teeing it up for Rosenstein to appoint their good buddy, Mueller. All this happening within about 2-3 months of the new President’s inauguration. Warp speed by DC standards.

Hillery sells out our strategic assets, and we spend millions quibbling over a sanctioned meeting?!

Just insane. I am supposed to think this is justice in action?

Is the answer to all of these questions “Never talk to the FBI?”

Yes, according to a retired FBI agent I know.

Excellent, Terry. More of us should be asking such questions.

Thou shalt not cast aspersions upon the Almighty Hellary. This is what Mueller is holding over Flynn’s head. Throw Trump under the bus or your kid will get the full wrath of the FBI.

Flashback - Trump Fires Adviser’s Son From Transition for Spreading Fake News - https://www.nytimes.com/2016/12/06/us/politics/michael-flynn-son-trump.html

“President-elect Donald J. Trump on Tuesday fired one of his transition team’s staff members, Michael G. Flynn, the son of Mr. Trump’s choice for national security adviser, for using Twitter to spread a fake news story about Hillary Clinton that led to an armed confrontation in a pizza restaurant in Washington.

The uproar over Mr. Flynn’s Twitter post cast a harsh spotlight on the views that he and his father, Lt. Gen. Michael T. Flynn, aired on social media throughout the presidential campaign. Both men have shared fake news stories alleging that Mrs. Clinton committed felonies, and have posted their own Twitter messages that at times have crossed into Islamophobia.”

Love to see the cross-exam when if he testifies.

You admitted to lying to the FBI?
Yes
You were fired by the President for lying to the VP?
Yes
You agreed to testify in return for charges to be dropped?
Yes

So why should we believe your testimony today?

>>>ABC reporting that Flynn will testify about Trump.

Yep...so hopefully we in Freeper land can stop all the stupid nonsense that Mueller and Trump are working together.

I think this is officially blown now.

It is not the job of any citizen to cooperate with law enforcement under any circumstances; much less if you think they are trying to set you up.

Not so sure, this case is profoundly weak. If all Mueller has is the testimony of a serial liar about a so called conversation than he should be fired for incompetency.

Unless something else is in play.

someone help a complete novice with this but how does two alleged conversations in late December, almost two months after the election was over, equate to “collusion”?

Gulen is not mentioned. The list of charges is whatever was plead down to during Flynn’s negotiation with Mueller over the past week. A negotiated plea means that something was left out in exchange for the defendant’s cooperation. Gulen’s absence in the list makes that a likely answer to what was dropped in exchange for Flynn’s cooperation. One presumes he also negotiated to ensure that his son wouldn’t face anything.

C'me on. Don't try to be logical. It is soooo last century.

Calm down everyone, you are all missing something blindingly obvious.

If Trump was colluding with the Russians BEFORE the election, why would he need Flynn as a go-between AFTER the election?

Mueller has just entirely destroyed the whole reason for his investigation to exist.
