Leigh was a problem child and the judge deemed the father as being the better parent and he got custody beginning on Sunday March 4th 1979.
Since Leigh would have been in school, there would only be 3 weekend days available.
March 3rd and the prior weekend in February.
You really think Moore was going to use his weekend to court this "whacky teen", in broad daylight, in a town that has chosen him as a favorite son?

I would also think it not likely, that a lawyer and an ADA would date a teenager if it was illegal at the time.
