In a new biography by Keith Koffler, Breitbart News Executive Chairman Stephen K. Bannon shares his reminiscences about Edward Gibbons The History of the Decline and Fall of the Roman Empire, calling the tome one of his six most formative influences, and comparing Americas challenges to those to which our forebearers succumbed. Im not a multiculturalist, Bannon relates in Bannon: Always the Rebel, explaining:
America has an underlying culture, that has been passed down from Jerusalem, to Athens, to Rome, to London. Its the belief in self-reliance, its the belief in the self-determination of the individual. Its freedom to be the traditional family. The culture that is our way of life. I think its absolutely vital and important. And we have an obligation to those that came before us as much as we have an obligation to the people in the future to pass that down.
The Romans, Bannon gleans from Gibbon, [Are] the people most like us. They built this great empire and how it all slipped away over time.
First published in six volumes between 1776 and 1789, the Englishman Gibbons work is a landmark of historical scholarship, setting the pattern for modern history writing. The Roman Empire was the greatest power the Western world had ever known, and its long shadow still cast noticeably over Gibbons enlightenment Europe. His flowery narrative of three centuries of decadence and decline that followed the reign of Emperor Marcus Aurelius featured prominently in the schooling of ten generations of school children and university students across the English-speaking world. Like much of the classical Western Canon, it began to fall out of favor in the latter twentieth century.

Bannon is on target again.
How long until Mitch McConnell accuses Steve Bannon of rape and demands that Bannon “step aside”?
BANNON: “Mitch McConnell was in the Army, but he wasnt in the Army that long. Theres a lot of controversy about why Mitch McConnell got rolled out of the Army. Weve been doing some investigating”
BANNON: One thing I do want to say about going back, what, 40 years on Judge Moore one thing were going to start going through is Mitch McConnell. Mitch McConnell has got some controversial things that we havent brought to light, that weve been kind of looking at
-from Jack Posobiec tweet (!!!!!!!) I thought I smelled a trap in this
Apologize for the O/T hijack; on phone, thread posting cumbersome.
After just reading the title:
Ive been saying this for decades. And now the barbarians (Islam) is at the gate.
I love how Bannon fights and hits hard, at the establishment.
This is just about our last chance at saving this ship and draining the swamp.
Just read America Thinker article by one Michael Nyilis. Is the left winning the long game. His issues are immigration and entitlement growth. Positive is the internet. Applies here. Good read.
Turtle is the single biggest anti-MAGA force extant. Sessions not far behind.
“BANNON: Mitch McConnell was in the Army, but he wasnt in the Army that long. Theres a lot of controversy about why Mitch McConnell got rolled out of the Army. Weve been doing some investigating”
I really love the sound of that. Nothing would please me more than to see both McScrotumneck and Eddie Munster, having to deal with “Moore-like” issues. What goes around comes around! We should have been doing a “proctological exam” on a lot of these worthless turds. I’d be for opening up the big guns on McCain over the S&L Scandal again. BTW just saw him on TV, he’s beginning to look thin and gaunt in the face, that’s a good sign that the cancer is winning!
Go Tumor!
He makes a good living at it, that's for sure.
Some? I’d say we’re quickly approaching critical mass.
Here's the link to the Michael Nyilis article you mention: Is the Left Still Winning the Long Game?
Yup.
I think there is a sort of general perception that the Roman Empire fell because it lost some big battles. But that’s not really true. I mean, they did lose some big battles — Adrianople, Chalons, etc. Bu the Roman Empire fell because of massive immigration of peoples into the Empire and their refusal to assimilate.
“Go Tumor!”
I just lost a high school classmate to this kind of cancer this past June. He was diagnosed the previous September and he had every conceivable treatment. It is an ugly disease. McCain should hope he doesn’t linger. I never thought I could bring myself to wish someone to die, but McCain is such a destructive person, and he’s in a position to seriously damage Trump’s agenda, that I am willing to change my position for him ( and the Clintons).
Four cultural items you can look at that will back Bannon’s assertions:
1: Government Employee Benefits vs. Private Sector Employee Benefits - One side works to support the other’s comfortable retirement all the way to poverty and national bankruptcy. No “equality” here.
2: Read a copy of “People” magazine - A nation of celebrity obsessed idiots.
3: Watch the HBO series “Westworld.” - Depravity, Insanity, and Degeneracy as “entertainment.”
4: Immigration - Open Borders.
Not to mention our rotting-from-within professional military and the state of perpetual war.
The Decline & Fall of America is well on its way.
The internet as a positive........my feelings precisely.
The ability to communicate globally with just a click is mind-boggling. Course our enemies know this too....
We have to remain smarter and more creative in its use for our causes.
Such as......Trump remaking politics with his use of Twitter to get his message across.
Multiculturalism is a recipe for rotting a nation from within, which is why the Left has made it its most important issue.
Thanks davikkm. My ass, Bannon.
