People are quick to excoriate those who get the subsidies. I don't like it. I want to pay for what I get. But I feel I've been forced into it.

I work - far more than 40 hours a week - and so don't qualify for Medi-Cal. My only other private insurance option is PPOs i.e. Blue Cross/Blue Shield, which starts at $600/month (with a huge $6K-plus deductible) which is completely unaffordable. Yet I am forced by law to buy insurance, which in my case is the subsidized Obamacare, also with a huge $6K deductible.

I get that the government and the insurance companies have colluded to jack insurance rates out of control because they have altered the free market to make medical care artificially expensive. Understood.

I am forced by law to buy insurance, yet the only affordable insurance option is Obamacare. By design. So consider this before you condemn we the subsidized.
