Another reminder, as if we needed one, that it's not going to stop with Confederate generals. Or, for that matter, Virginians or slaveowners. Look at the history of the left around the world. And look at where they drew the line and stopped. The answer is nowhere. And so we have this insult, unthinkable in the pre-Obama era where the Dems at least feigned respect for America.
An historic Episcopal parish where George Washington frequently worshiped has decided to remove a memorial plaque honoring the nations first president, saying the decision was out of a desire to provide a welcoming worship space for all visitors. The church will also remove a similar memorial plague honoring Robert E. Lee, the commander of Confederate Army of Northern Virginia.

Ping..
Christian theology says George Washington is still a member of that church. God is not the God of the dead but of the living. This church has violated the vote of a great cloud of witnesses that greatly outnumbers them.
Key word Episcopal synonymous for liberal/progressive...thats why I left that cult 15years ago.
Absolutely outrageous!

You say you don’t believe it? Well, you would if you ever attended this church. I went to Christ Church in Alexandria once and walked out; the woman priest spent much of her “sermon” talking about the upcoming 2016 presidential election with condemnations of Trump’s policies and nary a word about Hillary nor much of any about the Gospel. These mainstream Protestant churches have suffered from two things: first, their now senior pastors/priests are the 60s leftovers, who got draft deferments for going to divinity school. Most of them are hardened leftists who escaped service and got an easy, well-paid job often funded by the legacies of deceased church attendees. They in turn attract and hire like-minded leftists who preach leftist politics and the social gospel and openly practice politics. The product is sickening which is why you have seen the mainstream Protestants like the Episcopalians and Presbyterians lose more than half their parishoners over the past 40 years. To do this to George Washington in his home town of Alexandria is one dirty stunt, not worthy of an institution calling itself a House of God, but falsely.
“we need to start shaming people that put up with this stuff. but I bet you they cant be shamed”
With fingers in their ears, they double down like their god the Fraud taught them.
Obama is the father/mother of New America.
Well Washington was a slaveowner and Wallace wasn’t.. but both are non-persons now.
I do believe in the not-too-distant future they will change the name of our Nation’s Capital from Washington D.C.
“Express Outrage!!” Surely the oath so many of us have taken—as required in many capacities—to defend the Constitution, requires more than simply smoldering expressions of outrage. The Preamble states a purpose in total conflict with what has been going on, with respect to the Founders “Posterity.”
Will we take Washington off the dollar bill?
“Look at the history of the left around the world. And look at where they drew the line and stopped.”
I guess Stalin drew that line when he had Trotsky assassinated.
It had been proposed that if they gain statehood the name should be New Columbia. Since the NC conflicts with North Carolina, more recently it has been proposed that it should be Washington, Douglas Commonwealth. This would honor Frederick Douglas, a former slave of considerable accomplishment who President Trump was speaking favorably about recently. There are 3 states with Commonwealth as part of their whole name.
The Episcopal Church continues over the cliff.
