Many very powerful and desperate people really don’t care how protected the witness is. Their future depends on the witness not testifying about what they know. Of course, there are many ways to persuade someone to not testifying or to lie.

I really hate to say it, but nothing will come of this. Congress has oversight, but no teeth. And Justice/FBI either won't investigate or will do a sham investigation that will simply dissipate after a time.

I have no faith in any part of our gov't anymore.

Why was a “deal” necessary before this witness would be free to give testimony to congress?

Who is the Justice Dept. protecting and what information are they still hiding?
