A laptop computer recovered from the Las Vegas hotel room where Stephen Paddock launched the deadliest mass shooting in U.S. history was missing its hard drive, depriving investigators of a potential key source of information on why he killed and maimed so many people, ABC News has learned.

This whole story stinks to high heaven. Would love to know the real story. What we’ve been told isn’t it. Call me a conspiracy guy, which I’m not, but I am on this one for sure. None of it makes sense.

Might have had it set up to run linux, directly from a disk (cd or dvd). No HD needed, and no tracks left behind.
Fake news. I’ll bet it had a SSD and because it did, the Hard Drive space would have been empty.
I’m starting to think human trafficking. Significant money going to girlfriend “visiting” Indonesia. I was thinking weapons but now I’m thinking kids.
So who took the hard drive? Was it there when the police entered the room? Was it missing by the time the police entered the room? This story at the start seemed so straight forward. Now it is anything but.
Why would the shooter bring a laptop with no hard drive? It is useless without it.
Who had care, custody, and control of the evidence collected at the crime scene? This smacks of an inside job to deceive the American people. I have donned the tin foil hat.

I agree. Somebody else is behind this. Somebody with a political agenda, and this is not the only shooting commissioned by this somebody either.
But it's absence brings up more questions.
If you go with the premise that he was a total nutcase this makes sense. The same logic that would make a solitary man bring 23 weapons that he could not possibly need might also support a laptop with no hard drive.
This is just some weird shit folks. And I can’t tell you all how many times over the years I’ve made fun of “conspiracy theories” on FR.
I guess they carted off the hard drive with the dead body of the shooter. What a sham!!! The FBI is either plum stupid or, pulling off an Obama/Clinton inspired cover-up. I feel so sorry for all American folks that lost dearly loved ones, they are not being serviced or supported with the truth of this horrible tragedy.
