Chick-fil-A, the fast food chicken chain with Christian values, is the No. 1 fast food chain in the nation.
Even though the restaurant is closed on Sundays when most of its competitors are open, Chick-fil-A still manages to generate more revenue than its competitors, Business Insider reported Thursday.
"To determine the most popular fast-food chain in each state, Foursquare looked at which chains received the most visits on average per location in every state based on the total number of visits to each chain divided by the number of locations in that state," Business Insider noted.
Many have speculated that the company's Christian values resonate with customers and has helped it to become Americans' favorite fast-food chain. Victor Fernandez, the executive director for insights at TDn2K's Black Box Intelligence unit which collects data about restaurant sales and performance, told The New York Times "Those strong values resonate with a lot of people and Chick-fil-A has a strong product, too, which doesn't hurt."
Business Insider previously reported that Chick-fil-A's system has increased sales for 49 consecutive years, reaching nearly $8 billion in 2016. Restaurant consultant Aaron Allen said that Chick-fil-A's religious brand makes it unique.
"Unlike any other restaurant organization we've seen, there's more religion baked into Chick-fil-A as a brand and it works for them," Mr. Allen said.
Chick-Fil-A's Christian ties are evident in the company's mission statement which says it's purpose is "to glorify God by being a faithful steward of all that is entrusted to us and to have a positive influence on all who come into contact with Chick-fil-A."
The Chick-fil-A website notes that the business' founder, Truett Cathy, made the decision to close on Sundays in 1946 when he opened his first restaurant in Hapeville, Georgia. Having worked seven days a week in restaurants open 24 hours, Truett saw the importance of closing on Sundays so that he and his employees could set aside one day to rest and worship if they choose a practice we uphold today."
Fun fact - the President and CEO of Chik-fil-A is Tim Tassopoulos, an Eastern Orthodox Christian.
Same here.
I moved 96 miles away from my local CFA.
The food and service have always been excellent.
We have one close by. I can barely eat thee because the place is ALWAYS packed. I am quite sure if they open on Sundays the profits would just roll in but why mess with tradition?
Good food and good attitude. What’s not to like? Wish there was one in my neighborhood.
And, btw, I doubt that the most people who go to Chik-fil-A go there because the people or owners hold Christian beliefs, and likely don’t even know about those Christian beliefs. Many might know and do want to support people whose businesses are run with Christian beliefs and family values.
Funny you say that ... me too. It seems like every Sunday I’m thinking about a great chicken sandwich from Chick-fil_A.
I wish they’d dump the Kale and get good old Cole Slaw again. They have it at the Atlanta Stores.

My my, thin-skinned, aren't we?
..and wurst spelurs.
They are hiring at $13 per hour in Hendersonville, NC. Their spicy chicken sandwich ROCKS!
True. Texas is Whataburger country. In and Out just showed up lately.
Enh. They’re OK. I wouldn’t list them as bad, but not really good either. Basically a burger joint, but with chicken. I’d probably rank Smashburger, 5 Guys, Pei Wei and Sauce above them. And Panda Express, Panda’s not actually good Chinese food, but it’s got that Chinese buffet flavor, and that’s a specific flavor I crave sometimes. Oh and Culvers, can’t forget Culvers. Definitely better than McD through In-and-Out though.
Because people in Louisiana have access to good Louisiana chicken so they don’t need to trouble themselves with bad psuedo-Louisiana chicken.
I was so happy, I began talking about it at the office. "Oh, I don't like Chinese food!" sniffed one woman.
A week later, she returned from her lunch hour with some plastic bags that smelled like Chinese food so I said "It smells like Chinese food but it can't possibly be that because you told me you don't like Chinese food."
"It's not Chinese food," she replied. "It's Panda Express."
That’s funny, and true.
The nearest one to me is a half mile. Plus my kid works there and can deliver. Its a great gig for him. He even wears the cow suit.
He earned a high honor, similar to Eagle Scout. I found the CEO OF CFA’s email address and asked for a letter of congratulations for my son. He personally responded within an hour
I was at a speech BT Todd Starnes last week. He called Chick Fil A the official chicken of Jesus.
