President Trump early Monday disputed the account of his phone call with a Gold Star widow, who provided a description of the call earlier that morning in an interview.
“I had a very respectful conversation with the widow of Sgt. La David Johnson, and spoke his name from beginning, without hesitation!” Trump wrote on Twitter, referencing one of the Green Berets killed earlier this month in an ambush in Niger.

The president’s tweet comes after Myeshia Johnson during an interview on ABC’s “Good Morning America” confirmed Rep. Frederica Wilson’s (D-Fla.) description of the call.
“What he said was — yes the president — said that he knew what he signed up for, but it hurts anyways. And I was — it made me cry because I was very angry at the tone of his voice and how he said it. He couldn’t remember my husband’s name,” Johnson told host George Stephanopoulos.
Trump denied Wilson’s description of the call last week, but Johnson on Monday said the congresswoman’s account “was not fabricated.”
“Whatever Ms. Wilson said was not fabricated, what she said was 100 percent correct,” said Johnson.
“Why would we fabricate something like that?” she later added.
Wilson first provided her description of the call last Tuesday, saying Trump told the widow that her husband “knew what he signed up for."
Trump repeatedly denied Wilson's version of the call, as did White House chief of staff John Kelly during a rare appearance on Thursday at the White House press briefing.

It was earlier today on a thread about the widow. Some freeper said Trump literally accused the widow woman of lying. Totally untrue, he simply defended himself. Then he stuck to his story.

Sad that this woman used her dead husband as a political pawn in their hate of Trump. Her name leads me to believe she is a black woman. If so, then yes, she probably voted for Hillary. Sad she cannot go visit the families of the men slaughtered in Benghazi by Hillary and the dimocrats.

Who didn’t know this widow was a Leftist, after dragging that mad clown hat Wilson along with her to meet the plane bearing the body of her husband, taking the president’s call on speaker phone and reportedly sitting there sullenly silent!
Then she lets Wilson slander the US president for days and never calls her off, only to cash in on her husband’s death through GoFundMe and make TV appearances for more cash.
I think we have this gal’s mode of operation down pretty well.

Great summary! If I dare to say it, it does seem as if the Good Lord watches over Trump. So many weapons are forged against him, but none ultimately prosper. This will go the same route. Diehard Leftists will be on this newest Trump-hate bandwagon, but everyone else will see through it. His quest to MAGA will continue.
Agree completely. You expect Trump-haters on liberal and Leftist sites. It’s irritating to have to wade through them here. And lie they do! It goes with the territory.
Otoh, the encounter is what we make of it. I decided some time ago that I would enjoy these little dust ups. It all comes down to sticking to facts and ignoring anything that attempts to make it personal. When the Never-Trumpers realize their insults, etc., roll harmlessly off, utterly unnoticed, *they*, not we, lose their tempers.

I’m with you. In my mind, Trump was from start to finish a God thing, a supernatural appointment, for our nation’s last chance and for however long it lasts. May God be with him and with us, and see us through.

I did. There is no question in my mind the the widow and her mother (like 95% of all blacks) have been Trump haters all along.
Any shred of sympathy I may have had for her is gone. She and her mother and the Tranny Pimp planned together to turn what was a kind gesture by DJT into something bad. Shame on all of them.

I’ll try. I wish I could laugh it off better.
It once seemed hard for me, and tbh I’m not sure what exactly changed. Maybe it was a different POV re personal insults. The people who use personal insults are trying to get a reaction. If they can get you into an emotional state—perhaps one of anger—then they are in control. They are pulling your strings.
If they try to get you angry and fail, it becomes pretty amusing. If they had a strong position and could argue it well, they wouldn’t have needed to go the insult/Alinsky route to begin with. So when their strategy fails, they’re at a fundamental disadvantage. As long as you remain coolly and calmly focused on the facts, they’re going to lose—and all but the stupidest among them know it.
Generally all they can do at that point is change the subject. If you take great pride in remaining perfectly polite as you succinctly return the discussion to its original focus, they really are out of tricks. Just continue to courteously hammer the one or two points they CANNOT refute. Before you know it they will throw in the towel and slink off into the shadows.
Try it if you feel it’s a good fit for your posting style. You’ll be amazed. There is no frustration to equal that of a person who is trying hard to push your emotional buttons, and simply cannot succeed. Pay-per-view doesn’t offer better entertainment.
