Students storm library, shut down College Republicans meeting

A College Republicans meeting at the University of California, Santa Cruz was taken over by protesters screaming that the group’s existence is a threat to the safety of students.

Shortly after the CR meeting convened, one student entered the ground floor room of McHenry Library to ask attendees which group was assembling. After being informed that the meeting was a gathering of College Republicans, the student returned about 15-20 minutes later with company.

The similarities between preschoolers and (some) college kids is astounding. In this example, they're just throwing a tantrum over something they don't like. My son does that, but he's 3 -- and eventually he calms down!

It’s generally adolescent behavior when you see it. All of this comes from kids who basically grew up in the 2005 to present era. Makes you wonder if it’s a parent thing....social media-related...or just poor schools at work.

It’ll continue until some group goes to confront some folks and you end up picking on some group of GOP folks who spent a couple of years in the Army and they go into self-defense behavior...something that the Snowflakes weren’t expecting.

Had these professional antagonists simply attended the meeting and composed a response to it, perhaps as an editorial in the student newspaper, their disagreements might've been better received. It certainly would've been more intellectually honest.

Instead, they "got in the faces" (where have I heard that before?) of those "mean, nasty and dangerous" College Republicans, and effectively shut down their meeting.
