The real reason Hollywood is gunning for the NRA

Actor Alec Baldwin and California lieutenant governor Gavin Newsom have helped launch a crusade to win an Oscar for the documentary Making A Killing: Guns, Greed And the NRA. Their reasons in this case may go beyond the predictable liberal virtue-signaling.

When a sex scandal erupted against producer Harvey Weinstein, his first response was to pledge that he would "channel anger" in a campaign against the National Rifle Association, one of the most reliable devil-dolls liberals stick pins in to prove their bona fides.

Weinstein must have been shocked when this gesture did not gain him instant forgiveness for his sexual sins and shortcomings. After all, were not guns phallic symbols? Was not his anti-gun gesture therefore a symbolic repudiation of his own out-of-control manhood?

I said it before across multiple Weinstein articles, so I apologize for the repetition. However, I feel strongly that this is a golden opportunity to not "let a serious crisis go to waste." Except here, we're not being slimy collectivists, but upright citizens.

Mind you, I really do not like the idea of using the behavior of dirtbags and the tears of actresses/the misfortune of an innocent as a weapon against an enemy (to quote another Freeper). Real men would take these losers out back and beat some sense into them. I am also a free market capitalist and I don't want to regulate anything unless it is in line with the intent of the Founders.

All that said, we're dealing with the lowest of the low. If the Republicans had any sense of testicular fortitude - or a desire to MAGA for ALL individuals - they'd call a press conference and say:

"Democrats are clearly pro-misogyny. Silence equals consent. They said nothing while one of their fundraisers roamed as a sexual predator in Hollywood.

"It is sad that the loudest Democrat since this story broke has been Hillary Clinton, as she acknowledged that the Oval Office has seen a sexual predator - her husband.

"The Republican leadership asks the Democrats to stop treating the Second Amendment like Weinstein treats women, to reject Democrats' harboring of anti-woman fundraisers, and join us as we announce the start of hearings on this poisonous atmosphere in Hollywood, with an eye toward regulating studios and actors and actresses under the Commerce Clause as so many Democrats have with other parts of the economy."

Others have noted that the Republicans likely have skeletons in their closet and there is a risk in this approach. I agree, but maybe it's time to man-up and clean the Augean Stables. Frankly, I don't care if it's Hollywood or Wall Street or Main Street...this isn't the way real men act.

From Moses to St Joseph to men of fidelity throughout history, now is the time for Deplorables to reclaim the mantle of "compassion" from the statists, and expose their War on Women.

Let’s start banning (not going to see) movies that display guns. Not because WE are against guns, but we are against Hollywood gun hypocracy, until they verbally support and contribute to the NRA. We have brought the NFL to its knees (pardon the pun)...why not Hollywood on guns. What percentage of new movies center on guns and violence?

All these Hollyweird scumbags should feel free to volunteer to be the first ones knocking on doors if confiscation ever becomes a reality.

LOL...my cousins 16 year old daughter would drag Slow Joe to the ground and choke him into a light coma.

Her BJJ is solid.

Very true. Every movie is gun violence, Eminem glorifies gun violence and rape. They have the stones to lecture people.

I am completely out of spit for all their faces.

The news media started gunning for the NRA just after John Kennedy was murdered by a Communist. The TV shows began to show little anti-gun segments in some of it’s programs.

When Bobby Kennedy was murdered, the news media, TV and Hollywood jumped on the anti-gun band wagon like you would not believe!
One of the first anti-gun movies was TARGETS (1968)TV shows all added anti-gun platitudes to their scripts making them unwatchable. The escaping .25 caliber pistol was a favorite theme. (”WE’VE GOT TO STOP ‘IT’ BEFORE ‘IT’ KILLS AGAIN!”)

The movies reacted by being anti-gun while adding more blood, guts and sex to obtain the coveted “R” rating. They had promised to “police themselves” with this new joke of a ratings system, even re-shooting scenes to ad violence, then aimed the trailers at under age teens.

We were deployed when bobby got shot. Several of us had purchased Beretta pistols while deployed and had to store them in the ships armory. When we got back to the states, we weren’t able to gain access to them for several months pending new firearms regs. Think gca ‘68. Even worse, they were putting the ship in “caretaker” status and everybody got transferred away. It was a real pain in the butt to finally get the weapons released to us. Shipping and all.
