Attorney General Jeff Sessions said during a Senate hearing Wednesday that the errors former FBI director James Comey made in the Hillary Clinton case are still not “fully understood.”
Sessions justified the firing of Director Comey during his testimony in front of the Senate Judiciary Committee, and asserted that the errors Comey made in the Clinton case were far more devastating than people realize.
“Sen. [Dianne] Feinstein, I don’t think it’s been fully understood the significance of the error that Mr. Comey made on the Clinton matter,” Sessions said. “I don’t think I’ve heard of a situation in which a major case in which Department of Justice prosecutors were involved in an investigation that the investigative agency announces the closure of the investigation.”
“And then a few weeks before this happened, he was testifying before the Congress … and he said he thought he did the right thing and would do it again,” Sessions recalled. “So the Deputy Attorney General [Rod] Rosenstein … said that was a usurpation of the position of the Department of Justice.”

First of all, all lawyers call what they are involved in “matters”. They’re lawyers...that’s what the do. I don’t know how many times I’ve spoken to my lawyer who was involved in a “matter”.
However, that’s not what is significant here. If you read the article Sessions just said that Comey had usurped the power of the DOJ. In other words he was out of bounds...not legal...didn’t do things right. That’s all you’re going to get out of him until a hammer drops. And I sincerely hope it will.
Time will tell if Sessions is right for the job. Not many here have given him the same respect that they would expect on their job. Hell, if I’m not successful (to the outward world in six or eight months) I’ve done a terrible job. Nothing could be further from the truth...unless you’re a ditch digger...then you can measure success...In my job it takes years to be successful in a meaningful way..

I give Jeff Sessions three more weeks at best he should be fired at 5 on Friday - Opps I forgot its president Trump what fun would that be how about Monday.
I do not understand why Sessions is being crucified for this.
I certainly understand what you’re saying. Hopefully he is working diligently to get his ducks in a row and go after the culprits.

I think that’s exactly what is happening. If not, we’re truly sunk.
Trump wants to get the bastards and if he knew Sessions wasn’t doing his job to do that, he’d have gotten rid of him by persuading him to resign. He knows firing him wouldn’t be the way to go.
I suspect Gowdy would be no different from Sessions. Remember, he endorsed Swampster Rubio. He also praised Mueller, etc. Sure, he talks tough, but he is not the real deal, imo.
Because the people who post on this forum have no clue how things work in the real world. I’ve got first hand experience in how this stuff works, and it isn’t fast and it isn’t pretty. We can want and hope all we want but the wheels of justice grind very slowly.
