The fact is, every service member knows what he or she signed up for.
In casualty notification training, they sometimes teach that families are actually somewhat prepared for a service-related death, in that the possibility is always at the back of their minds. They are typically not as shocked by a combat death as they are by other types of deaths of service members.
Agree, I spoke with an 86 year old mother of a 1LT I had in RVN who was KIA a few months after I left the company. This was around 2001 or so. She was just glad to finally speak to one of us who knew him, especially a man who had been his CO when he arrived plus put her in touch with the top NCO who helped her also. I am sure someone could have picked out a few words of mine and twisted them into -”how
could he tell a mother that?”
Context. As in “He must have known what he was getting himself into” BUT HE DID IT ANYWAY BECAUSE OF HIS LOVE OF COUNTRY AND WILLINGNESS TO SACRIFICE.

More likely he was praising the man by telling them about the debt we owe him and others for going into harms way with their eyes wide open, knowing they may give the ultimate sacrifice, but doing it anyway......a concept that crazy Leftists will never fully know because it is a epitome of a certain John passage in the Bible.....

Great minds think alike; before I even saw the name I knew which widow caused this. One out of the four soldiers was black, and his widow dishonored his memory with this nonsense.
heres what they are trying to push...the widow was on her way to greet her husbands casket, driving, when Trump calls her ...lo and behold, her radical congress woman just happens to be in the car with her, how convenient huh, and they put him on speaker phone!!..and Trump supposedly is very cold and mean to her, and made her cry. The race pimp congress woman recently hired Trayvon Martins mother in her office...geez, this isn’t a political hit , is it??....man,e people will sink to any level.

I can also see Trump saying this as a commendation of bravery. It would apply to a fireman running into a burning building or a policeman chasing a criminal.
The true bad behavior comes from the Democrat Congresswoman who "overheard" the private conversation and ran to the press with it.
