Only two motives. He was a flaming lib who hates conservatives (country music venue full of them) or Islam convert. I can tell by media silence.

Perhaps only the shooter knew about his motive.
I would guess that he slowly turned against the casinos, society, etc. and figured that he would clean it up by killing the little human ants below him.
Sheer speculation on my part right now.
Perhaps his writings will reveal something relevant.
