Before he opened fire late Sunday, killing at least 58 people at a country music festival on the Las Vegas Strip, gunman Stephen Paddock was living out his retirement as a high-stakes gambler in a quiet town outside Las Vegas.
Paddock, 64, would disappear for days at a time, frequenting casinos with his longtime girlfriend, neighbors said. Relatives also said Paddock had frequently visited Las Vegas to gamble and take in concerts.
Eric Paddock said his brother often gambled in tens of thousands of dollars. “My brother is not like you and me. He plays high-stakes video poker,” he said. “He sends me a text that says he won $250,000 at the casino.”
Eric Paddock said he showed the FBI three years of text messages from his brother and said he had no information whether Stephen Paddock had gambling debts or was financially troubled. “I have absolutely no information he lost a bunch of money. The casino would know that,” he said.

They made that Arizona shooter nut Loughner out to be a raving hardcore Rock-ribbed conservative activist when he wasn’t in the least political.
In Reverse they make this guy out to be utterly devoid of political interest.
to me that says hardcore liberal and sadly, the only place where you are going to get any kind of answer about that, any kind of rigorous research will probably be at 4chan, of all places.

- pilot's license
- owns two planes
- has lived in 25-30 different places in recent decades
- no record of long-term regular employment
- comfortable retirement, with money apparently not an issue at all
- "high-stakes gambler" ... in an industry where the house always wins
- known to disappear from home for weeks or months at a time on long trips
- foreign wife/girlfriend/etc. who seems to be in and out of the country for long stretches without him
There is nothing normal about this guy at all.
Let me get this right:
the guy who is an auditor at one of the biggest military contractors on Earth, who makes sure the numbers are on the up-and-up, and as a natural matter of course develops all of the skills to cheat:
this guy was a hardcore high-stakes Gambler..?

If you read through the bits and pieces of information about this guy’s life right up until the time he started spraying rounds all over that outdoor concert pavilion, his life read like the Danny Ocean (George Clooney) character in “Ocean’s Eleven.”

This level of planning and preparation meant this was a long time coming. That type of preparation requires very strong motivation.

When we heard about the planes, pilot’s license, big bucks gambling, mysterious source of income, secretive travel, etc-and one of the guys said he was an accountant-the contractor I work for and I both said “launders drug money”-I’ll be interested to see if we are right-his activities sound like those of an accountant who launders drug money for narco mafia capos in the novella I like to watch on Telemundo...
