BS, Pickett’s charge was the largest mass shooting in US history.

Probably followed by Cold Harbor.

So many larger massacres throughout history. Guess if modern means last 50-100 years, maybe. And is this gun only or what about 9/11?

You can say that it is the deadliest mass shooting in modern American history, but not all of United States history.

Damn history all to hell. We’re not supposed to remember things like that. That’s why the Progressives don’t want American history taught any more.

You would have to rule out shootings conducted by US military in order for this to be the largest. Let’s not forget Wounded Knee where over 150 were killed.

Three More:

Mountain Meadows Massacre -- Mormons slaughter approximately 120 members of the Baker/Fancher wagon train

Bear River Massacre -- U.S. Army led by Mormon scouts slaughter approximately 450 Indians near Preston Idaho

Wounded Knee Massacre -- U.S. Army slaughters approximately 195 Sioux Indians at the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation

It is also not the worst mass murder in U.S. history. That dishonor goes to the hijacking of five passenger planes on September 11, 2001 and using them as missiles against the Twin Towers and Pentagon.

Or in the alternative, September 1857, Mountain Meadows Massacre (Mormons v. Arkansans, 120-140).

Some race riots also may have had higher death totals.

But when the media talks about "mass shootings" nowadays they're usually talking about what one person (or two people or at most a small group) does, rather than mass or mob violence.
