The majority of Americans say professional athletes 'should be required to stand during the anthem at sporting events', a new poll has revealed. The September 25-26 exclusive Reuters/Ipsos opinion poll found that 58 per cent of those quizzed think athletes should stand and observe the national anthem, agreeing with President Donald Trump.

The results, released on Tuesday, also found that 57 per cent of adults do not think the National Football League should fire players who kneel. This included 61 percent of NFL fans who watch at least a few games per season.

The results were split along party lines, however, as 82 per cent of Democrats and 29 per cent of Republicans disagreed with the president's comments about firing football players.

Trump represents Pittsbugh, not Paris, no matter how Pittsburgh feels about it.

I don’t like the way this is worded. This is still a free country, Trump is not requiring them to stand, I am not either. I think the team owners should require them to do so, but if not well I don’t plan to watch since they already didn’t do that.

Trump said they should be fired, that is his opinion, any “requirements” would have to be set by the owners. It happens to be my opinion as well but that doesn’t mean we are requiring them to do or not do anything. They can disrespect this country and we can walk. That is how it works. The wording of this is the media trying so hard to put the blame on Trump, portray him as a dictator. Nice try but nope. Trump is not calling for them to be arrested so no “requirement” by him is implied. This is more fake news.

Professional athletes are role models for children and it used to be understood that they were held to standards by the owners. Now it seems owners don’t care about that. Many fans do so we will see. I don’t know when the owner requirements for players to act respectable were dropped but it is a shame they were.

Cuba sends us their baseball players. We should send them our football players in return.

The Bronze Rat

A tourist walked into a Chinese curio shop in San Francisco .

While looking around at the exotic merchandise, he noticed a very lifelike, life-sized, bronze statue of a rat.

It had no price tag, but was so incredibly striking the tourist decided he must have it.

He took it to the old shop owner and asked, "How much for the bronze rat ?"

"Ahhh, you have chosen wisely! It is $12 for the rat and $100 for the story," said the wise old Chinaman.

The tourist quickly pulled out twelve dollars. "I'll just take the rat, you can keep the story".

As he walked down the street carrying his bronze rat, the tourist noticed that a few real rats had crawled out of the alleys and sewers and had begun following him down the street.

This was a bit disconcerting so he began walking faster.

A couple blocks later he looked behind him and saw to his horror the herd of rats behind him had grown to hundreds, and they began squealing.

Sweating now, the tourist began to trot toward San Francisco Bay .

Again, after a couple blocks, he looked around only to discover that the rats now numbered in the MILLIONS, and were squealing and coming toward him faster and faster.

Terrified, he ran to the edge of the Bay and threw the bronze rat as far as he could into the Bay.

Amazingly, the millions of rats all jumped into the Bay after the bronze rat and were all drowned.

The man walked back to the curio shop in Chinatown .

"Ahhh," said the owner, "You come back for story ?"

"No sir," said the man, "I came back to see if you have a bronze Democrat."

And that was probably before it was public knowledge that there is a long-standing rule that they MUST stand....

It’s already required!!! SO many people are just damn ignorant.

The National Anthem must be played prior to every NFL game, and all players must be on the sideline for the National Anthem.
During the National Anthem, players on the field and bench area should stand at attention, face the flag, hold helmets in their left hand, and refrain from talking. The home team should ensure that the American flag is in good condition. It should be pointed out to players and coaches that we continue to be judged by the public in this area of respect for the flag and our country. Failure to be on the field by the start of the National Anthem may result in discipline, such as fines, suspensions, and/or the forfeiture of draft choice(s) for violations of the above, including first offenses.

If the NFL thugs and owners don’t like the national laws re respect to our flag and national anthem. They should get it changed, like those, who don’t like our immigration laws should do instead of breaking the laws.

Yes there are laws/rules re how to behave when our National Anthem is being played.

Fraud': Mainstream polls use 29% more Democrats than Republicans:

Washington Examiner ^ | 09/22/2017 | Paul Bedard Posted on 9/23/2017, 4:30:52 PM by ForYourChildren

Most of the top political polls that got the 2016 presidential race dead wrong are continuing to use a flawed methodology in rating President Trump's approval ratings that favors Democrats, women and younger voters, according to a new analysis.

The report shows that the mainstream polls oversample an average of 29 percent more Democrats than Republicans and the results skew anti-Trump. The result is that it robs Trump of about 8 points in his approval ratings, from 46 percent to 38 percent, it said.

The players should NOT be required by law to stand - but they should be required to stand by the NFL...

If White Players chose to protest the high murder rate of police officers committed by black men BY YELLING ‘STUPID NIGGERS’ during the National Anthem, they should be fired or required to shut up too - BY THE NFL.

We believe in freedom of speech. But NOT ‘freedom without responsibility’. If the NFL backs this outrageous behavior they need to say that to their former fans...
