North Korea said on Saturday that firing its rockets at the U.S. mainland was "inevitable" after U.S. President Donald Trump called Pyongyang's leader "rocket man," in a further escalation of rhetoric between the two leaders.

North Korean Foreign Minister Ri Yong Ho's remarks before the United Nations General Assembly came hours after U.S. Air Force B-1B Lancer bombers escorted by fighter jets flew in international airspace over waters east of North Korea, in a show of force the Pentagon said demonstrated the range of military options available to Trump.

"Through such a prolonged and arduous struggle, now we are finally only a few steps away from the final gate of completion of the state nuclear force," Ri told the annual gathering of world leaders.

"It is only a forlorn hope to consider any chance that the DPRK (Democratic People's Republic of Korea) would be shaken an inch or change its stance due to the harsher sanctions by the hostile forces," he said.....

We really need to send somebody over there to explain the difference between their 1950's style weapons and ours.

NK gets a ton of money repatriated by Korean-Japanese. They should pull the plug on it, make it completely illegal.

I also don’t understand why it’s legal for Japanese to take a boat over to NK:

That should be made illegal also.

As I said back in the '90s, the day will come when people will be begging for RWR's Star Wars ballistic missile defense system, and demanding an explanation for why it wasn't fully operational.

NK is also one of the biggest counterfeiters of US currency.

I think the perfect way to explain that difference is to drop a MOAB or two on every installation that even looks like it is being used to launch missiles or produce warheads of any kind-that might just get their attention, and would limit the damage they could do to South Korea anytime soon-and it would be a hell of a treat for the pilots who delivered those educational aids-an added bonus...

Yep, you wonder, if Fat Boy and his yes men in North Korea, understand cause and effect, understand that there are consequences to actions.

So that, if he starts bombing America, he will be inviting annihilation of his country. Is that what he wants?

does he not understand that his is a small country, and that no matter how deep his arsenal is, that ours in many times greater than his? And that if he starts a war, it is a conflict he cannot win?

Maybe he’s got a death wish?

suicide by cop, or suicide by American missiles???

I just checked and, according to Wikipedia we only built 15 MOABs. I don’t know if we still have the “Daisy Cutters” of the Vietnam years. But I honestly believe that we can get the job done without going nuclear.

It makes you wonder, how these sanctions will work, to try to compel North Korea to change.

Their people are already starving. Fat Boy and his yes men don’t give a damn about their own people. It could be that sanctions won’t matter too much, in that, their people already live at a subsistence level.

We don’t have many MOAB’s and C-130’s are the delivery system for them. C-130’s wouldn’t get very far.

This gets complicated in a way, in that, if military action is taken, and we resume the Korean War, then what?

We know that militarily, we can win such a war easily. But, for example, is South Korea ready to accept millions of refugees from North Korea, if war breaks out?

Is South Korea ready to unify and absorb North Korea, similar to how the two Germanys merged together?

There could be lots of fallout(pardon the pun as we speak of nukes in North Korea), lots of fallout if we and South Korea end up invading and occupying North Korea.

Same here. Then the dems would be BLAMING Reagan for not getting it done ("didn't we already have that? Surely we have it because Reagan sure talked about it a lot")
