Washington (CNN)Texas Sen. Ted Cruz told reporters Tuesday it was a "staffing issue" that led to a pornographic video being "liked" by his Twitter account -- which has since been removed.
"It was a staffing issue and it was inadvertent, it was a mistake, it was not a deliberate action," Cruz said, according to The Washington Post. He added: "We're dealing with it internally but it was a mistake, it was not malicious conduct."
An aide to Cruz confirmed the comments to CNN, adding that there would be an internal effort to figure out who was responsible.
Cruz declined to comment when asked by CNN about the incident.

Yes, it is very easy to accidentally like a post on Twitter while scrolling on a smartphone. I have done it several times myself. Of course, I am not trolling thru porn sites so I am more likely to accidentally “like” an innocuous conservative political post or a sports one.

I can believe it. I have 9,400 Twitter followers. When you have a large amount of activity in your feed, sometimes horrifying things appear, often sent to you by trolls.

As they log in, someone watches their keystrokes, or even says “What is his password...does he use something bizarre?”
And the dumbass goes “Yeah! It is “deadkittens2016”!!! Isn’t that weird?” All it takes is someone, somewhere to do something weird, and no matter that the person didn’t authorize it, it is out there, and no amount of denial will stop people from propelling the lie around the world before the truth gets its pants on!

Staffer could have deliberately done it but thought he was doing it on a personal account making it inadvertent.
