The Guardian Is Shocked Irma Hasn’t Turned Floridians Into Climate Warriors

The Guardian canvassed one of the Florida neighborhoods Hurricane Irma rolled through to ask people about climate change, only to find citizens still don’t believe it’s that important.

Journalists at The Guardian asked citizens in the Marco Islands near Naples, Fla., if Irma’s destruction has influenced their position on global warming. They found Irma hasn’t really moved people to action on climate change.

“The question now is whether local residents, Floridians and by extension America writ large will ponder the lessons of Irma, consider its portent of intensifying extreme weather in the wake of climate change, and decide to do something about it,” The Guardian’s Ed Pilkington wrote Monday. “The early message coming from Marcos Islanders on Monday was crystal clear. No.”

Pilkington asked Marco Islander Chris Roche, 52, who was surveying the damage to his home, what he thought about the hurricane and climate change in general.

“They always tell us we will have a storm surge,” Roche said, referring to media warnings about possible catastrophic flooding from various hurricanes. “I know they are doing it for safety reasons, but I’ve never seen it happen.”

“I don’t think climate change is such a big deal,” he said after noting a somewhat cynical view of the media warnings from Gov. Rick Scott and others.

That’s because Floridians evidently have much higher intelligence than the Guardian folks. But then again, the Guardian folks are merely journalists. The Floridians have to actually produce value to earn a living. (Well, at least the conservative ones.)

What an idiot author.

Hurricanes have been happening forever. There was a ten year reprieve. Now sunspot activity is back

Every time there is a bad rainstorm they expect us to say, “Chicken little was right!”

We’re adults. It ain’t gonna happen.

I actually did some research on hurricanes. Here are some of the things you have to factor into the equation:

The earth is round
The Coriolis Effect
The Conservation of Angular Momentum
Water can have different states
The equator
The sun
Africa
Cold, dry air from North America
The Western Tradewinds
The Jet Stream

That’s just the start.

Look at where Florida is on a map and in relation to the Gulf Stream.

If you decide to live there, you ARE going to get hurricanes. Just as how we here in the north can count
on snow in January.

Most Floridians are smart enough to understand this.

The Guardian is a spinning machine for globalists. That, like climate science, can’t be argued.

I do surveys for extra pay. In the week after Harvey, since I live in Texas, I had four separate surveys through different platforms (and different groups sponsoring them) ask me “don’t you think global warming caused these hurricanes?”
No, because we had a really long spell, several years, since we had any hurricanes. If climate change was worsening them, it wouldn’t be noteworthy to have several big hurricanes at once as we did in 2010 because they’d be a regular occurrence.

LOL! You should have seen what some assclown lib posted someplace the other day ‘splainin’ “her-ricaines”. Witch doctorette causes them to a ALWAYS form in the same place off of africa in retaliation for slavery and is fueled by all the dead AAs that were tossed overboard on the journey. And, they were serious. WTH? Guess they must have forgot about the ones that develop in the Gulf. Or, maybe those form because of the possible cancellation of DACA. Wack-O-friggin’-doodles.

The 1900 hurricane that wiped out Galveston had nothing to do with global anything and neither did the 1856 Louisiana hurricane that swallowed Last Island or the ‘75 double-hurricane that wiped out Thomas Jefferson’s crops. The Conch Nation knows that hurricanes have always come and gone and it has jack to do with any warming myth.

“Climate change”, Floridians?, when the older they are they have seen how many Hurricanes in their lifetime; and when prior to this year there was 10-12 year hiatus of major hurricanes making landfall in the U.S.?

If anything, Floridians are not as stupid and indoctrinated as the reporters for the Guardian.

Again I ask those who think “Climate Change” causes hurricanes; is that what caused the ‘Nuestra Señora de Atocha’ to founder, on September 6, 1622?
Show us the proof!
