Donald Trump on DACA: ‘Chuck and Nancy Want to See Something Happen — and so Do I’
Breitbart ^ | 7 Sep 2017 | Charlie Spiering

President Donald Trump signaled support for signing a permanent deal to assist DACA recipients, giving amnesty to illegal immigrants brought to the United States as children.

“Chuck and Nancy would like to see something happen, and so do I,” Trump said, referring to Democratic leaders Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer.

(excerpt required clip).

The president suggested that ideal legislation would include border security funds and a permanent fix for DACA .

“I’d like to see a permanent deal, and I think it’s going to happen,” he said. “I think we’re going to have great support from both sides of Congress.”

Gee, Trump was right! He CAN murder a little girl in full public view, and his devoted fan base will stick with him.

Immigration problems was one of the main reasons I voted for him. Justice for criminals like Lerner and Clinton was another.

Looks like he’s breaking his promises on both immigration AND law and order.

So disgusted.

But short of walking in and shooting the ones you think are Rinos, what is your proposal?

No DACA amnesty. Period.

DACA push, an interesting follow-on to 3 month extension of debt ceiling deadline.

This issue of immigration belongs with the Congress. Our Constitution makes it so.

There isn't a snowball's chance that if Congress can't pass legalization (which they shouldn't anyway), that Trump will then issue another EO like Barry did. It's Un-Constitutional and Trumps knows that. He's just punting the issue to Congress were it belongs and like likely die.

On a related note...it's disgusting and quite frankly traitorous how Congress and most of the media are more concerned about ~800,000 foreign national adults who are here illegally, than they are about hundreds of millions of citizens and issues that directly impact them (jobs, failure of barry-care, national defense, border wall/security, taxes, etc).

The only thing that gives me any hope at all is that perhaps Trump has had it with the GOPe not helping him pass any of his agenda. So he is pretending to side with the Democrats hoping the RINOs will get in line.

If that’s not it, and we have all been had. And I don’t think it will work anyway. The RINOS really couldn’t care less about the country, they just want to keep their perks.

HAHA, just like he won't sign a budget without Wall funding in it.

Therefore implying that there are those who DON’T like to see something happen... >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

Ryan and McConnell detest populist, MAGA Republicans. They still thing they can run America for their country club financiers and their insurance lobbyists. WRONGO.

Trump will do an end run around the RINO country club and get things done.

Neither Ryan no McConnell even realize it yet, they are the walking dead, dinosaurs in a new political era of American populism which is poised to transcend partisan lines.

MAGA. Git ‘er done!

You need to make that a stand alone post with that as a title and that picture in the body of the post. Seriously - please do that.

Oh I don’t think so - I think they want to win but at the lowest level possible just to cling onto power but have numbers small enough as a convenient excuse for agenda moving slowly or not at all. For example, they probably want to break about even or just a few seats in each chamber - they keep their powerful positions without upsetting the apple cart with too much fresh blood. So they want to win, but at the status quo - not a landslide. A landslide for the GOP could possibly mean 10+ Senate seats...that many new Senators would really rock the boat in the caucus as they could lean on each other coming in as freshman than totally dependent on that those that were already there. It’s a landslide victory they don’t deserve and apparently don’t want...and the base isn’t exactly being enthused to turn out in large numbers so they may get what they want. That’s kind of a paradox - we really need the base of the party to get very enthused to deliver this landslide victory for a party that is demoralizing and disappointing them.

Ted Cruz: Trump Will Let Deported Immigrants Back In, I Won’t

you know, what Trump said on this is not ancient history, we all remember what he said—— “they all gotta go, then they can come back if there’s no problems”

Yep some may stay and some will go and the program is kaput. I am ok with this type of compromise as long as daca is no more and we build a wall. I would consider that a very strong win. Politically, it looks better too. A lot of voters dont want amass deportations of daca people. That’s the reality.

Fair enough. But I’m wondering... Here on Free Republic, are we primarily here to promote and support populism... or conservatism? The two aren’t always one in the same and I’m praying Trump isn’t being deceived into thinking he needs to work with Democrats just so he can (naively) claim he’s getting something done for the American people.

This. Anyone remember how former House Speaker John Boehner had no choice but to disgracefully “retire” from Congress because most of his House bills were being passed with majority Democrat votes?

You are conveniently forgetting that the so called conservative hawks in the “Freedom Caucus” voted Ryan for speaker. It’s beltway kabuki and you are swallowing all their BS. LOL.

Unfortunately, the Freedom Caucus makes up a small minority of House votes so they alone are incapable of delivering conservative legislation for the POTUS to sign. Recall also how nobody in the GOP, including Paul Ryan, was really interested in the soon-to-be-vacant House Speaker position at the time. The party had to practically beg Ryan to take the job because it was believed no other candidate was going to receive majority House vote support, so he reluctantly did. I’m pretty certain the Freedom Caucus simply chose to bite the bullet and vote for Ryan as a show of party unity.

By the way, can anyone believe that at one time Paul Ryan was highly regarded, even here on FR, as a Tea Party Conservative?
