Attorney General Jeff Sessions will be be making the Trump administration's announcement on Tuesday about the future of the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program.
Sessions will make the announcement from the Department of Justice in Washington at 11 a.m. and will take no questions from reporters, the department said.
The program, also known as DACA, was instituted by the Obama administration in June 2012. The program currently allows nearly 800,000 illegal immigrants who entered the country as minors to remain by receiving a renewable two-year period of deferred deportation and a work permit.
Stephen Miller, President Trump's senior policy advisor, spearheads immigration policy in the White House, and was Sessions' communication director when Sessions was a senator. Miller was behind Sessions' campaign against the Gang of Eight's push for bipartisan immigration reform in 2013, which never made it to former President Barack Obama's desk.
It has been widely reported that Trump will end DACA after a six-month delay, and Sessions helped persuade Trump to take that step.
Sessions has made cracking down on illegal immigration a top priority since taking the help of the Justice Department.

I really think the Trump should be making the statement first. And explain he might how the students who are caught up in this can start preparing for their return home. He is the president, he can soften the blow, give them some advice on how to make the best of the bad situation their parents put them into. They get to return to Mexico and other countries with their US education, with that knowledge and culture and uplifting. Mexico and others should be welcoming them back, we should be encouraging them to go, it is a win-win for Mexico and other countries to bring his US educated kids back to their home countries.

Wrong messenger, if they can even wake him up enough. While this is a law enforcement issue, Trump is the one rescinding the executive orders and actions, plus he needs to be a human face on this, explain it in positive win-win terms for everyone. Sessions won’t or cannot do this. They’ve had 9 months to finally get around to doing this day one promise, I sure hope they do it right and not blow it like so many others.
I wish Sessions would resign. Even without the mess he created by recusing I don’t think he’s up to the job.

If riots ensue, I think the police will have different instructions than recently. Normal people are tired of and annoyed with scum in the streets causing problems and hurting people for no reason.
