U.S. military strategists at the Pentagon have a military solution in place to address the growing threat emanating from North Korea, but they are holding their fire in favor of ongoing diplomatic efforts by Washington and its allies, Defense Secretary James Mattis said Thursday.
The Pentagon chief remained largely mum on the details of that military solution, which theoretically would curb Pyongyangs efforts to develop a nuclear-capable, ballistic missile arsenal, except to say any military option would be a multilateral one involving a number of regional powers in the Pacific.
Do I have military options? Of course, I do. Thats my responsibility, to have those. And we work very closely with allies to ensure that this is not unilateral either
and of course theres a military solution, Mr. Mattis told reporters en route to meet with senior leaders in the technology sector in Seattle and California.

I concur: No comment.
Kick A** on 1 on 1....

A good answer to rogue nuclear dictators, is responding to missles fired, with laser weapons. But they may not yet be accurate at a long distance.
Part of this problem goes back to Wee Willie Clinton and his lesbians in high ranking positions.
1. Find out Kim jung un ‘s(OR whatever i know you will say i misspelled i don't care) location
2. TONIGHT OR ASAP: nuke the hell out of that area 10 miles in every direction from his location. With repeated nuking the craters to get deeper at it's bunker.
3.That should get him/he/she/it .
4. What's left of the military will negotiate surrender.
Did you notice China’s latest response ?
Yes. So they are already backing away - in public (which is a BIG deal in Asian culture).
I’m still certain that they won’t do anything of great consequence is we pre-empt all over Kim’s ass - first, because it will not be in their interest to do so and, second, because we won’t do that unless the threat is imminent.
I’m convinced a few MOAB’s all landing at the same time on and around his palace when we know he is there probably solves the problem.
Great find
No, you misunderstood my post.
I said that China won’t hit us back if we pre-empt, because (in addition to it not being in their interest) we would not pre-empt unless the threat was imminent. IOW, I don’t think that we’re GOING to strike NK right now, not unless we think that they are going to launch within hours or minutes.
“Going to” expresses my view of reality (which is to say, today’s political realities. It does NOT express my policy preferences - that is a different matter altogether. On that score, I differ completely with Susan Rice and everyone on that side of the fence. NK is an extremely unstable country, led by someone who appears to be quite the lunatic. Even if he is replaced, the mechanisms have LONG been in place for a similar dictator to just step in to Kim’s shoes. NK and its leadership have proven that they are not in the least bit responsible (quite to the contrary), and now that they have both nukes and long-range delivery systems, something MUST be done. This is not the Soviet Union, which was an aggressive enemy - but rational and subject to deterrence. We dare not wait until the NK’s develop rockets that are more accurate and reliable, nor fusion weapons that can be miniaturized enough to fit on top of those rockets and be delivered on target in working order.
If it were up to me, I’d unleash Hell on the NKs, unless China reined them in SOON and BIG. That will not only eliminate that one (potentially very large) problem, but will serve as an object lesson to an unnamed random country situated on the northern shore of the Persian Gulf, just to the east of Iraq.
Can’t disagree with your solution
Trump talks to the Chicoms over the weekend and they don’t agree to do what is needed to change the regime and denuke the NORKS
So what do you think we are going to do and when ?
See if the sanctions work ?
You can’t keep the military on constant alert
The next New Moon is August 21. Other things being equal (and they never are), maximum advantage for us, worst possible situation for North Krapholeistan. Just sayin’.
Other than that, it is just too hard to say (and I have WAY too little information to be certain of anything).
