Sorry Gator, I don’t think the DRC would allow pictures of dangerous child labor. There’s always a happy face put on fascism and slavery.

Read my post. I’ve seen child labor in the world. First hand. It is no joke. I have no doubt it is real today and African countries would have to be suspect. Get back to me after you’ve seen the world...out in the country side.

LOL! You rather believe what the WP publishes rather than what you read in FR!

As for the article ....

“The world’s soaring demand for cobalt is at times met by workers, including children, who labor in harsh and dangerous conditions. “

Indicates that it is not part of the major supply chain. These are ‘independents’ trying to eke out a living.

“Here’s another article “

LOL! Same article! And it is not up to date on Apple. Apple verifies that their cobalt comes from certified sources as does MOST of the cobalt. GEEZ!

“One good looking mine does not a decent country make.”

It’s just the major cobalt producer in the DRC ...

It is no joke but my wife says that her ‘child labor’ job put food on the family table. You may have seen it but she lived it.

It is real but you don’t go around saying the whole industry is evil because individuals are working unauthorized mines trying to put food on the table.

Interesting that the article does NOT mention the location of the mine. That information would allow international organizations to put pressure on the company to stop the child labor.

Maybe that is because these are NOT company owned mines?

Well, crap comes from the likes of you with your illogical statements, so, no, I intelligently choose my sources and you are definitely not one of them.

Did he mention that cobalt comes out of the copper mines?

Step back and look at the greenie pet projects to transform the energy industry. Everything they are doing transfers the severe pollution offshore from the US so our city air can be cleaner. It benefits the libs; they get to feel good driving EVs and having solar cells on their roofs; the city air is cleaner. What do impoverished countries around the world get? Child labor; filty pollution with very toxic substances; huge uncontrolled open pit mines to extract rare earth elements. On-shore in the US, the cities where the libs live don’t have to put up with the destruction of national vistas with gazillions of windmills; incinerated bats, bugs and birds; chopped up raptors. The windmill companies get a complete pass on dead raptors while oil companies pay HUGE fines if a couple of eagles accidentally fall into a waste pond.

The whole green energy scam transfers most of its filth offshore so libs can send their virtue signals to the world...all the while their hypocritical hero celebrities live the highest carbon consumption lifestyles possible.

You enjoy supporting all of this? It’s insane.

Here's another article from Washington Post touting the harm of Cobalt mining:

Yeah, but the ComPost lies about everything else; why should we believe them? < /sarc >

Of course cobalt is used in all lithium and NiCd batteries. Watches, cellphones, hearing aids, your computer. And there’s not many ways to make money in the Congo. It’s not like if electric cars cease these kids will suddenly be in Wonka’s chocolate factory... or even Baltimore’s public schools. Their lives are gonna suck pretty much one way or the other.
