>>Mr. Kelly made clear to members of the White House staff at a meeting Monday morning that he is in charge
This is one of the WORST things a new leader can do. Political position or otherwise, it is a terrible move.
Assuming it is true, of course.
Were you ever in the military???
Have you ever taken control of a group you did not hire?
This is EXACTLY what you do.
A 1998 sign-up date yet has the understanding of an 18 year old.
Hmmmm.....
Most importantly, he has no ego or inflated sense of self. I've known a lot of senior officers, and he was almost unique in that regard. I thought last week there was no way he'd tolerate a foul-mouthed braggart like Mooch, and I imagine he discussed that with Trump last week.
Those of us privileged enough to know General Kelly likely are all feeling the same - our country got very, very lucky to have him in this position at this time. Good sign that Trump recognized his character and talent and put him in that role.
This WH staff needed to hear Kelly say that he is “in charge”.
Priebus was clearly not in charge.
Scaramucci was overly in charge.
Spicer was stressed out.
There is a statement out already that Jarret and Ivanka are happy to report to Kelly, as well. Ivanka reportedly is interested in less being expected of her.
The writing is on the wall that changes are here and I believe the petty and noisy things have a chance to simmer down, cut the drama, under Kelly, at the White House executive staff level.
The real battles are big, and these foreign and domestic affairs are accelerating. All hands and energy need to be expended on those.
