07.31.17 Anthony Scaramucci RESIGNS as White House Communications Director Comes less than a week after hiring

JULY 31, 2017 Washington, DC (ABC/WBEN) Anthony Scaramucci resigns as White House Communications Director.

This comes the same day John Kelly was sworn in as Chief of Staff. Sources tell ABC Scaramucci resigned, asking to be redeployed at the Export Import Bank as chief strategy officer.

Scaramucci had not been on the job less than a week. It may be most memorable for an expletive-laden conversation with a New Yorker reporter that disparaged other members of the Trump team.

But I digress.

Understatement of the year. LOL

I will simply say that Trump’s hold on power is more tenuous than we would like to think. He is surrounded by a sea of resentful and crafty enemies and he needs to run a tight ship. That is how you win battles.

FWIW I supported Trump and donated heavily to his campaign. Yet I feel no need to rant at those who dare to sincerely question some of his decisions. Constructive criticism is a healthy thing. Nobody is perfect.

Thank you for the reply. Yes, the “palace intrigue” may be a bit exaggerated and/or overblown, but you know the old saying: Perception is reality.

When Bill Clinton came into office the WH was in disarray for quite awhile until David Gergen (a Republican at the time) was brought in to restore order. In that case, Clinton’s early days were not very productive until things settled down.

I hope Kelly is able to keep the perception from becoming a harmful reality. He’s a strong leader and should make a good Chief of Staff. Like him or not, Gergen was good in his job. But IMO the best model for a great CoS is Jim Baker (1981-1985).

There is a certain amount of adjusting the nation must do to accommodate president Trumps style; however, on the flip side there is a certain amount of adjusting president Trump must do to accommodate the nations style and expectations.

This was a terrible decision and all of this make the president look weak. That said this is all theater for the ugly.

Trump's Whitehouse might be a bit of a mess but the nation during a hot summer isn't boiling over in fact Trump's America is starting to beep bop along as Trumps optimism pushes back the Obama depression.

The republican in Congress need to be brought to heel all this jackassry in the Whitehouse isn't helping.

Perhaps that was the plan. Hitman. However, after accomplishing that mission, he could have continued in his position if he was in fact capable of doing the job. I think Scaramucci was out of his element and way over his head in a position that required diplomacy, tact, emotional self control, and the toughness to be in control of a pack of jackals. Firing him was the only thing to do whatever the reason for hiring him in the first place. I am not at all bothered about the whole situation, hiring and firing. Pres Trump has not been diminished because of a personnel decision and Scaramucci has the wealth to survive and hopefully he will have a sit down talk with himself about going forward personally and professionally. It was not his potty mouth that irked me but the arrogance in throwing his weight around and not being professional in his job. A blowhard. Glad his firing happened early on rather than him losing control at a really important time for Pres Trump.

Constructive criticism is a healthy thing. Nobody is perfect.

Of course. Conversely, gratuitous disparagement is both uncalled for, and effectively aids and abets the Enemy.

Sometimes the distinction between the two is in the eye of the beholder, but sometimes it's more objective than that...

There's actually a Warren William fan site? LOL

Warren was a marvelous actor and I have yet to see one of his movies that I didn't thoroughly love.

He was in the original version of an O. Henry story ( LADY FOR A DAY ), that was later remade with Bette Davis ( who was fantastic ) but the movie, A POCKET FULL OF MIRACLES, was otherwise mostly miscast. The original was far and away superior in EVERY way.

Groupthink is a dangerous thing that can lead to intolerance. Simply having a different view does not justify unfounded charges of disparagement or aiding an enemy. You may disagree but I believe a vigorous and constructive public dialogue is always preferable to suppressed thought.

Thankfully we have the freedom to openly express our views in this country. Such openness has been a hallmark of our great democracy.
