It’s called virtue signalling. They answer the question the way they think the mob wants them to answer it, so they can tell people how they answered it in hopes that the mob accepts them.

Yep, I think that’s part of what we see with polls.
Regardless of politics or our views, all of us know what the “politically correct” answer is to a poll question. All of us know the “politically correct” views of various issues.
So, when polling on transsexual military issues, we know the politically correct opinion is to say you are in favor of them in the military.
On global warming, we know we are supposed to believe in global warming.
On race issues, black lives matter, etc. we know we are supposed to think that Trayvon and Michael Brown are saints and martyrs, and that there is an epidemic of police using young black men for target practice.
On illegal alien issues, we know the politically correct opinion is that we are supposed to grant amnesty, otherwise we are bigoted and xenophobic.
With Muslim issues, Hillary would call us Islamophobic if we question Muslim immigration or travel to America.
And so it goes. Some people fear being called racist sexist homophobic xenophobic Islamophobic, per Hillary’s criteria, so a certain number will tell pollsters they are liberal on whatever the issue is. too many have been conditioned to think that if you oppose liberal views then people will think you are some sort of bigot.
And most of them don’t even know what this question even entails because the media doesn’t report it. How would their answers change if they were fully informed as to the time and resources being used to counsel women serving that they will have to deal with having grown men showering with them in open, communal shower rooms? That sort of social tension doesn’t belong in the military. Women should not be expected to shower nude with men who say they are women.
How many of those responding to this poll know this is happening? How many know that literally billions of dollars will be spent not on military readiness, but on people joining the military to get ‘free’ elective “sex change” operations? There is far more to this than the mere “transgenders serving in the military” generic phrase - and this poll doesn’t address that. It is fake news.
Another issue is how questions are framed.
It might be good to ask, do you want transgender people in combat? Or could they serve in some other capacity? That sort of question could get a very different response.

Even if this were true and I don’t believe it is; most people have not served in the armed forces so they know nothing about what it’s like.
Unit cohesion is severely damaged with trans and gay people. Maybe, just maybe, the fighting age generation has a more open-minded attitude about gays but in a foxhole or months living on top of each other in harsh conditions; gay people are a problem. They think differently and of course act differently under different conditions than straight people. Trans people are a non starter. They must be kept away from front line combat conditions at all costs. They are mentally damaged. You simply don’t put someone with a mental illness to start with in a high stress combat condition; not if you want your troops to live.

According to Rallypoint.com, only .04% of the US population is in the military and around 2% of the population alive has ever served in the military. So how can people who have no idea what is involved, how it works, or anything about it without being told what other people who also didn’t serve think it is like, have any opinion that actually is knowledgeable and should be counted as worthwhile?
