It wouldn't really be necessary to know Linux. There are bootable Linux images that can be copied to a USB drive that contain a plethora of utilities that can easily be used to copy data from the hard drive of almost any computer. It would be easy enough for someone with little IT experience to do this.

I guess you've never used the linux copy command cp to create new copies of existing files. Its default behavior in such a case would date/time stamp the new files with the current date and time. Why are you commenting on this thread?
