My in-laws (from Britain) were so smugly excited to go to Cuba, as Americans weren’t allowed to go there. Lorded it over me. To which I said ‘Gee, I have no desire to go to Cuba’. After they returned (they were staying with us on vacation), they were strangely silent about their visit. I didn’t push it. I am a nice person.

What I can't understand is why sane Americans want to visit Cuba in the first place? For curiosity?....for a beach or two?....for latin music, or food?...for state hotels and a crumbly tourist site or two?

Heck, go to Miami or Tampa for some of the same stupendous experiences..... and keep your excess money in the USA for American citizens.
