It amazes me that the left thinks the election of Trump is bringing us 1984, and I felt the same way because of the election of Obama.

It’s totally lost on the leftists that this book is about them.

So Trump is reducing government regulation and backing out of AGW agreements that should have never been: and that’s boosting 1984 sales?

Big Brother. Like Obama’s use of our intelligence agencies and surveillance capabilities to stop political opposition?
I can see that making me sick or wanting to fight.

The summer before my senior year in high school, the list included the novel "The Caine Mutiny." Knowing nothing about it I lay down on the couch, opened the book, and about eight hours later I realized that my eyes were burning and it was 3:00 AM. I reluctantly put it down and went to bed. The next day I finished it, overwhelmed. Some time later I saw the 1950s movie version with Humphrey Bogart. What a disappointment.
People who see a play based upon a book are bound to be disappointed.

The two books Hillary absolutely loved as a child were “Animal Farm” and “1984.”

George Orwell was a fierce anti-communist. The book was a cautionary tale of what happens when communism goes unchecked. Stupid liberals. Once again, they’re on the wrong side.

The original 1984 was a warning against the very socialism and government control that liberals love.
