It was supposed to be the race that would give Democrats their groove back, a chance to claim blue turf inside red territory and signal the political perils of Trumpism in districts across the country.
The Democratic Party's all-in approach to Jon Ossoff's candidacy backfired so badly that the big winner was the man who was the target of all the organizing energy on the left. President Trump capped the night declaring outright victory not just in this election but for the slate of contests held in the Trump era.
Ossoff became a vessel for national anger at Trump and a test case with implications far beyond a single House race.
A 30-year-old blank slate of a candidate with scant political experience who happened not to live in the district he was seeking to represent, gladly took Hollywood and Manhattan dollars without adopting fiery anti-Trump messaging or Bernie Sanders–style progressivism and campaigned as an even-keeled moderate.
Democrats don't have a cohesive message or a road map for arriving at one.
"Race better be a wake up call for Democrats -- business as usual isn't working. Time to stop rehashing 2016 and talk about the future," Rep. Seth Moulton, D-Mass., tweeted Tuesday night, in a widely noted piece of commentary. "We need a genuinely new message, a serious jobs plan that reaches all Americans, and a bigger tent not a smaller one."
But the Democrats' problem, of course, isn't simply fighting; it's winning. For now, with the fights inside the party far from settled, they haven't shown that critical capacity to win.

- substituting a carpetbagger for a resident of the district,
- tricking democrats into depending on out of state money, and
- manipulating democrats into nationalizing the election by calling it a referendum on the man Georgia’s 6th District voted for as President seven months ago.

The democrats run on the idea that everybody believe what progressives say about Trump. They are deranged in their hatred. They also support violence against their opponents and can’t understand why most find that abhorrent.
Deal with reality Dems. Your candidate spent $35 million recklessly lying to voters that he is a fiscal conservative and a national security hawk. You still lost badly.
Your problem Dems is you have no soul, no ideas and no solutions. You merely lust for power for power sake. Dems exist today wholly out of inertia. The Democrat party brain is already dead but the body of the party is still twitching.
I guess they aren’t angry enough, shrill enough, liberal enough, didn’t spend enough money, didn’t get enough Hollywood idiots to push Ossoff????
You mean pushing the Russia collusion thing ad nauseum with ZERO evidence isn't getting people excited? Of course not, keep doing it. The biggest problem is that the Dems and the media are overcome with hatred, hatred is not appealing.
Yep, for the last week every time I was at a Stop Light and the old Lesbians started yelling “vote for Ossoff”, I yelled back “or you’ll shoot me!”.
This one is difficult for the Dims to claim a “moral victory”. They were all-in, spent $30 mill and they lost by 6.
Their problems with not winning these races don’t seem difficult to solve to me:
1. Have a message other than “Hate Trump!”
2. Have some ideas for putting people to work.
3. Don’t let Hillary out in public.
I believe the MSM over-the-top slavish support of democrats and their hate Trump messaging is turning so many people off. This was an off-year election that would normally have very low turnout. But the dims and msm are angering normal working people, so they are turning out.
Ossoff gladly took leftist Hollywood and Manhattan dollars but his campaign style did not even come close to the fiery anti-Trump rhetoric or Bernie Sanders–style progressivism the lefties dearly love.
In fact, Ossoff campaigned as an even-keeled moderate.
COULD THIS BE MAIL FRAUD?
Did Democrats raise money promising Ossoff would represent their views? Maybe Dems sent out emails and fund-raising letters promising a big bang for their buck? That they'd get fierce anti-Trump rhetoric from Ossoff?
This needs examination.

Just examine the history of the world, Democrats!
Has any nation's citizens remained free if they yielded up their own Creator-endowed rights to the property they acquired by their own labor, to freedom of conscience and expression, and to worship as that conscience dictated?
"Redistributed" wealth, forcibly taken by one group called "government" from laborer earners is not the same as that wealth which comes from one's own labors. That is because the act of "redistribution" requires a third set of persons, by "collusion," to possess power adequate to allow them to "take" from some and "redistribute." And, how can one know that such persons are honest enough to be trusted?
Sure seems to be an awful lot of them in the dem/progressive party.
I think the big problem with the democrats is that they're the only ones falling for their own lies. Trump crushed them despite their confidence that she couldn't lose, now this guy suffers the same fate as Hillary. Your pollsters are lying to you, dummies. I agree, Americans support underdogs and the media and the dems constant hate 100% of the time has turned people against the hate and for Trump.
