SOLANO COUNTY, Calif. (KTVU) - Two East Bay men are being hailed as heroes for helping save a female CHP officer who was being assaulted by a driver along a freeway shoulder in Solano County over the weekend.
Witnesses say the driver was beating the officer along Interstate 80 westbound in American Canyon when a 61-year-old former linebacker, former cop and Greg Bunting, a 52-year-old motorcycle mechanic, jumped in to help.
The incident happened around 8:30 Saturday morning.
Witnesses say the suspect was actually reaching for the officers's gun when the two men, strangers to each other, came to the officer's aid.

CA PC once again leads to extremely deadly and dangerous events....The female CHP is lucky she's not a statistic right now.
There has to be something wrong in the heads of women who take jobs putting their lives at risk like this. I say they are unfit to be LEO if they are too stupid to see that.

Females have no business being “on the beat” cops. Another fine unfortunate example of political correction gone mad . . . They put themselves and the other male cops who have to save and protect them in terrible danger.

I have to agree,but it also depends on the female. A six foot 200 pound muscular strong female officer will kick butt,but that is not what mostly get hired. These police departments hire tiny women and they get hurt,and when they scream into their mics their fellow officers get hurt trying to save them.
If female cops would keep 8ft safety zone and shoot anyone who invades it, they could be effective.
As a truck driver in Montana, I saw a woman sheriifs deputy.
She was five foot tall and about one hundred pounds.
I, as a responsible person would listen to her commands out of respect to her but she would be in trouble alone in Williston Nd

What happened to this young lady that could fit the bill. It's been a few years, and I thought she was getting college paid for and going into law enforcement...
This didn’t happen. The PC establishment has ruled that women are just as qualified to be combat soldiers as men. So, you didn’t really see this.

For LEO’s, I don’t care if you are male or female as long as you can bench 250lbs, squat 350lbs and run two miles in 16:30. Would probably throw in tests for sit ups and pull ups also.
In other words very few women would qualify, but those that could, could handle the job physically.
Women should not be allowed in the armed forces. They are not cost effective as a group.
