The 11-month-old investigation into whether President Trump or members of his campaign colluded with Russians has still not turned up any evidence that’s strong enough to put before a jury.
That’s according to California Rep. Adam Schiff, the ranking member on the House Intelligence Committee, which is overseeing one of the parallel investigations into whether members of the Trump campaign coordinated with the Kremlin to influence the outcome of the election.
“I’m not prepared to say that there’s proof you could take to a jury,” Schiff told ABC News’ Martha Raddatz on Sunday when asked if he’s seen proof of collusion.
As a leader of the House committee, Schiff has been able to review classified information held by various agencies of the intelligence community. He has also sat in on briefings with FBI officials to review information in the case.
Though Schiff acknowledged that he has not seen evidence that’s strong enough to present to a jury, he believes that investigation is warranted. He asserted that when the FBI opened its investigation last July, the bureau had good cause to do so.
“I can say that there’s enough that we ought to be investigation,” Schiff said Sunday.
“Indeed, it would be negligent for us not to investigate. If a foreign government…has something that they can hang over the head of our president or our administration that can influence U.S. policy, it is very much in our national security interest to know it.”

Trump came into office hoping to arrive at some kind of agreement with Russia and at the same time avoid the Syrian war. The “collusion” drumbeat is designed to make that politically impossible. This is coming from inside CIA/State and is intended to defeat his intended policy and either drive him toward their policy or ultimately drive him from office to replace him with someone more malleable.
And, I believe they will concoct a “Gulf of Tonkin” event to force him into a war footing against Russia... again for the purpose of making any kind of alliance impossible and also to bring us back into the war against Assad.
There has been no proof all along and yet that has not stopped them from continuing this farce.
It is all about continuing the 30 year bipartisan policy of non-enforcement of laws and borders to change the demographic makeup of the country.

I have problems with the entire narrative. Schiff claims the investigation has been since July ‘16. This was during the election cycle. Is this purely cover for the spying on Trump?
Hillary blamed Russian Collusion after the election loss. That wasn’t until Nov. ‘16. Why were they conducting an investigation “BEFORE” there was an allegation???

I agree, and this cannot be overstated, in my opinion. The only question is whether people like Schiff are complicit with full knowledge of the consequences, or whether their ideology blinds them to the consequences. It doesn't really matter, as the results are the same. They've shown over and over again their willingness to lie, deceive, and essentially do anything that leads to their desired outcome. It appears to me that politicians can rationalize just about any behavior.
Where are we on the investigation that Obama's 'intelligence community' probed election systems of certain southern states?
Why is only the "winner" of the November elections under the microscope (or proctoscope) when it is highly likely foreign interference would have/should have occurred in both parties?
I think we need a "House Committee on International Election Influences" and open up a can of whoop-ass regarding Barry's meddling in Israel and in BREXIT - while using US dollars in those efforts.
Widen the broom of the sweep of "foreign" influence on ALL elections - where it REALLY happened and stop investigations where there was NO evidence at all.
