Scott Pelley: D.C. Attack on Congressmen Was 'to Some Degree Self-Inflicted'
Newsbusters ^ | 06/18/2017 | Tom Blumer

Posted on 06/19/2017 3:42:26 AM PDT by DFG

Thursday evening, CBS's Scott Pelley, who officially ended his tenure as the network's Evening News anchor the following evening, told viewers that "It's time to ask whether the attack on the United States Congress Wednesday was foreseeable, predictable and, to some degree, self-inflicted."

It's clear from Pelley's subsequent commentary that his answers to all three elements are "Yes." It's equally clear from the examples he supplied as support that he sees (or wants viewers to see) the problem as predominantly about the conduct of those on the right.

>>was foreseeable, predictable and, to some degree, self-inflicted

But every case of Islamic terrorism “surprises” the Leftist Media.

Of course he is correct. They foolishly tried to “Drain the Swamp” without realizing the Swamp would fight back and take prudent precautions.

But Scott, we all know that Republican supporters are more likely prone to act out with violence. /sarcasm

Well, the best defense is a good offense. The Republicans have not been putting up much of an offense. Scott “stopped clock” Pelley may be right about this.

The robbery of people with money is self inflicted.
The rape of a woman is self inflicted.

The logical extension is that all good people on that baseball field should have practiced open carry and been wearing kevlar uniforms.

Progressive comedians think showing a beheaded head of Trump is art.

Shakespeare in the NYC Park shows Trump being assassinated.

Progressive/liberals rioting and conducting organized violence at Trump and conservative gatherings.

Democrats leaders calling Trump a Nazi and the people who voted for him fascists.

And we are surprised liberals/progressives wants to kill Republicans?

And Hitler never personally gassed a Jew.

But the hate and venom of democrat leaders and the fake media are leading this country to violence.

And it is not going to end well.

Once again the media looks for motives and are baffled by a muslim terrorist attack, police brutality against gang thugs, illegals committing rape murder and killing by drunk driving yet they figured this out quickly as predictable.Every day that goes by they tighten the noose around thier own necks

So if someone shot this jackass it would be “self-inflicted?”

You have to like that CBS fired Pelley, as in get the hell out, and did not offer he or his agent an opportunity to work out a "Scott is moving on to etc etc".

Again, I reiterate - watch #Phonejob go back to CBS - he could anchor, he could sub-anchor, he could take over for Charlie Rose at CBSMN (which would also be a booby hatch for CBS to kick out Gayle King & Norah O'Donnell), he could give 60 Minutes a lift; and his history at CBS wasn't overtly rancorous - and the ones who did object like Eric Engberg are gone (in Engberg's case, literally, he died in 2016).

The MSM is an undrained, plugged-up sewer where the filth of humanity collects in a large, fetid malodorous mass.

Gabby Giffords had it coming.

Oh ... sorry ... do any of these statements offend?

Seems like we need a new term: Radical Liberal News Media. Many are just useful idiots but some are seething cauldrons of liberal hate and radicalism.

I hope Mr. Pelley remembers that if he ever suffers some ‘self-inflicted’ wounds of his own.

Seems to me, Mr Pelley may be self inflicting his own wounds. Now that you’re retired.....perhaps a really low profile would be your best bet there Scotty. Beam yourself up.

Notice how Pelley called this an "attack on Congress" when only Republicans were singled out and targeted?

Yes, I know that Speaker Ryan said it was an attack on all of them, but I can't help but think that Pelley didn't want to portray Republicans in a sympathetic way.

It's Solzhenitsyn who sheds light on Progressive hypocrisy which sees evil as always coming from the 'right.' The reason Progressives are willfully blind to their hypocrisy and other vices is due to their affirmation of a 'new' Gnostic pagan Manichaesism, a view of good and evil that allows Progressives to see themselves as wholly good but the right as wholly evil.

Progressives are heirs to a rejection of the Christian foundations of Western civilization, a rejection that stretches back to the end of the Medieval period and beginning of the Renaissance.

It is within our rejected Christian foundations that the radical concept of mankind's fallen condition is the source for Solzhenitsyn's explanation of evil as something that cuts through the hearts of all men---including Progressives who project their own evils onto the "right," particularly white people since they refuse to accept responsibility for their own wrongdoing. This is why Trump is always the cause or white people are always the cause, or straight white people are the cause, or guns are always the cause, ad nauseum.
