One defense FOR Comey is that Comey KNEW Trump wasn't involved - and KNEW there would NOT be an investigation into this 'matter' UNLESS the "powers that be" thought an investigation would damage Trump. So he gave 'elites' what they wanted... knowing it would be taken away by the reality of a specal prosecutor.
The Russian involvement centered around assisting Bernie Sanders - and damaging Hillary. Russian Involvement started at a time when NO ONE in Washington (or for that matter Russia) would have dreamed that Trump had a chance. Russians had a dog in the fight and it wasn't Trump or Hillary. Seth Rich was a Bernie fan... he was working against Hillary. Seth worked WITH wikileaks... a group Russians worked with too.
It's possible Comey knew the only way to highlight what was going on was to have a special prosecutor appointed.
Comey stated that the choices he's made were ones ethical people would make if they had been in his shoes. Comey's not irrational... There might be a story here... Robert Mueller might be in for some surprises - IF he hasn't prejudged the situation ... Then again - maybe Comey's a liberal elite idiot...
Presidents's routinely replace DA's at their whim upon taking office. Preet was being sized up, and found to be uncooperative when he wouldn't accept the call. I'd fire his arse, too.
