Back in the fall of 1980, when I took my senior seminar in Political Science at Indiana University, I realized very quickly that the prof was a total Bolshevik and the class should have been called Soviet Communism Here and Now. He advocated “workers controlling the means of production” and all of that. Having worked all summer in commercial construction, I realized what a really bad idea that was. He’d obviously never been to a construction site.
Anyway, it is my lasting regret that I did not have the balls to agree with him, and offer that students should control the means of production of GRADES. Then we could all vote ourselves an A+ for the semester, do away with the BS and head to Nick’s for a beer.
The students at WKU have acted no differently. It just proved the fallacy of when you turn responsibility over to those who are ill-suited to handle it.
They would have to raise tuition for white students. Eventually, it would be an all-black campus — with no tuition revenue.
Yep! Definitely the thing to do. Absolve them of ANY consciousness of responsibility whatsoever, and guarantee that they leave academe as total snowflakes, expecting, nay, DEMANDING a free ride for the rest of their miserable lives. MADE that way by unwise OVER-charity like this move.
And will it go to a Black student whose parents came here 20 years ago from Africa, thus never had any ancestors who were slaves in America? And are they going to bring back the old ‘racial blood tests’ of the Jim Crow era in the South?
