Agree - I was thinking the same. They think they’re getting a freebie, but the schools are getting a very good look into the lives of the kids, and their families. I’m sure there’s been cases of parents trying to be real parents (i.e., spanking their brats) that have ended up in CPS files. I also remember one case where the schools activated the cameras in the computers and had a great time ‘monitoring’ the students study habits, especially those of the teen girls, in their bedrooms (in Pennsylvania).
To date, I don’t know of any textbooks that spy on kids, but then again, I haven’t been through all of Snowden’s stuff.
Speaking of textbooks, I’m constantly amazed by the number of parents who never crack open their kids textbooks.
If they want free stuff, they need to accept the consequences.
