Not too far from my old haunts around the Cleburne area. Reckon I can find the festivities at Gatesville okay, but it'll have to be next year.
Would you please post a comment to the Shoot ping list that reservations for Cherokee Village are now set? Add a reminder to mention they are with the Texas Cowboy group. The ping list is on my home page. Thanks I’m advance.
Keith isnt too keen on making that long drive to Lake Whitney again (this time probably in one day). He wanted to see if anyone was interested in doing the recon to find a place near the TX-LA state line, but I dont know who would be able or willing to do that. All we could do from over here is look online for ranges with nearby proper accommodations and make phone calls. Those two things are not easy to put togethera good range and a place for 30 or so people to live (it up) for a few days. Cherokee Village is perfect, even though its a little way to the range.
PS: But I know the location is already set, so, we’ll just have to see. :-)
OMG, That is awesome!
For the 2018 shoot I’ll have my ducks in somewhat of a row and we’ll have it near the LA border.
From TheMom: “Reservations for Cherokee Village are now set. As a reminder, don’t forget to mention you are with the Texas Cowboy group, so you can get the discount.” They will want a deposit of the 1st night’s room amount, whatever that is depending on which room or cottage you choose.
Y’all come if you can! You’ll never regret it! :) <-—me
Durn it....
Forgot to add that the dates you’ll be wanting to reserve are:
October 19-22st. Y’all come!!
Excellent!
Libertybel just made our family’s reservation. Got a two bedroom cabin that sleeps seven. Depending on how many of my kids attend, we might have room for a straggler or two.
An associate of mine has an 80 acre ranch down that way in a little town called Palmer. I don't know what he paid for it, but he said it's a lot less than most people would think.
Thank you for the posts. They are a great size ... emphasis on Great
Have had preliminary conversation with better-half but moving as quickly as you and Bell only works when better-half takes her stick and fry pan to me. Prayers I remain unlumpy and can make this year’s shoot to be among FRiends with better-half dragging me in rear view mirror
You’re welcome.
That’s awesome! I’m hoping to get the same cottage that I had last year. One bedroom with 2 beds and a bed in the living room...which is a bit weird. Plus the couch can be made down into a bed. I can have extras too.
My intention is to fabricate some clay jars with
lids.. about the size of a school milk carton.. with
flat bottoms.
These can be placed atop the Tannerite containers and
should disintegrate just fine and leave nothing to clean up.
I have wanted to attend every TCMS since first hearing of them some ten years ago. For a very long time we weren’t financially able to go, due our destitute circumstances.
In time (and with a lot of hard work) that turned around for us. We then wound up with a reverse sort of problem, where we couldn’t close the shop long enough to attend.
We’re finally getting to a place where there’s enough balance for us to make the choice to go, and pull it off without hurting ourselves.
Even so, it still takes intention on our parts to make a trip like this happen.
I remember you finding space for me and Libertybel a couple of years back. That was the year we camped out in Canton. What a great time we had. It was literally the high point of our year. Thank you!
Somewhere, Tom is smiling about your plan. It’ll be a great send-off.
