A suspect dressed in black allegedly kicked in a Marine veteran’s door just after 3 a.m. Thursday in Salt Lake City and was shot dead in the living room.
According to the Salt Lake Tribune, the deceased suspect, 33-year-old Puleaga Danny Tupu, was one of two men who allegedly forced their way into the apartment. Resident and Marine veteran Brian Sant was awake at the time, as he had just arrived home from working the third shift and was sitting in his living room.
Sant fought with the men until his 29-year-old son emerged from a back room and shot both suspects. Tupu died at the scene, and the second suspect was taken to the hospital in critical condition.

Mormons are big on Pacific Islanders. They have brought a lot of them to Utah. Bunches of them come to Utah and go to BYU.
One is allegedly dead and the other alleged perp is alleged in critical condition. :)
If Tupu hadn’t forced his way into a marine ‘s home his body temperature would still be in the neighborhood of 98 deg.

I’ve never seen Spam sushi in Silicon Valley, but I saw it in Salt Lake City. Crazy.
Frank Grouard was a Hawaiian or Polynesian who scouted for
General Crook as he chased Sitting Bull and Crazy Horse in 1876. His skin color caused the Indians to think he was of Indian blood. He was the son of a Mormon missionary and a native girl.
I remember a native Hawaiian in the USAF at Little Rock AFB.. He often joked that he was going to put a sign around his neck saying....”I AM NOT A NI**ER!” as he had dark skin and kinky hair. A good guy.
Surname Tupu is used at least 116 times in at least 6 countries.
Origin of this name is Polish.
But I would think Samoan myself.
We have a large number of Marshall Islanders in NW Arkansas. One even killed a large number of people in Missouri a few years ago.
It appears it has not been a good week for home invaders.
One killed in Alabama, three in Oklahoma and now these in Utah.
Think of the homes that WILL NOT be invaded in the future.

I met an Australian actor, Lani Tupu, of the SciFi series “Farscape”. He had a beard and looked like Mephistophiles, but was a cool as they come.
He play Capt. Crize in the series, a real nasty killer.

A lot of Micronesians in Hawaii, they do look negro, and are not happy with being thought to be one.
I think the original article is now updated, but when I first read this it sounded fishy and I looked at some other articles about it. On KSL the police say it was NOT random and they refused to disclose the relationship of the suspects to the residents. Elsewhere it was reported that at least one or all of the occupants were parolees or on probation. And in one, I’d have to look, but I think it said charges were pending. (I’m traveling now, just getting back on the computer, not time to dig out the links. Anyway, it clearly wasn’t an innocent home invasion.)
