I haven't been paying much attention to this issues but this is a head-scratcher for me.

Things will really start to shape up near 2018 midterms. Right now, there is no need. That is the thinking of Republican strategists.

He is probably trying the carrot before the stick. See how willing Mexico and Canada are to negotiate, and if he’s not making progress, serve the one-year notice that we’re leaving. Then see how flexible they become.

Trump just approved the Keystone XL pipeline. It’s stupid to complain about a trade deficit with your NAFTA partners while at the same time you’re approving pipelines to make it easier to sell us their oil.

I think the goal is to become as Middle-East free of oil and gas reserves as we can get.

While it could be said the oil coming from Canada does compete with domestic product and jobs here, I have mixed thoughts on using up all our oil pulled from under our soil.

It’s all a strategic reserve to me. Let the rest of the world supply our oil until their reserves are weakened. Then use our own when the rest of the planet is hurting.

I do want to be mostly independent of other nations. It’s a balancing act IMO. Use mostly our own and lessen the full amount by importing more product.

I don’t want massive foreign deficit spending.

We need to have the wall built first in order to leverage that deal.

I thought Trump was against the TPP as well... something is either fishy, or Trump is going to quit keeping his campaign promises and turn back where many of us were worried he would... I pray that isn’t the case.

I’ve learned that the fondest dream of the media, the left and the Dems (to be redundant) is to make us lose faith in DJT.

I’ve learned Donald is always several steps ahead of them. Even though he’s written books and articles and given talks on his strategies in business negotiation, somehow the opposition never catches on. He plays Go; they play Parcheesi.

I’ll stick with Donald.
