RUMORS: If RyanCare fails, Trey Gowdy may replace Paul Ryan as Speaker of the House

With the likely failure of RyanCare on the horizon, the landscape of the Republican party may drastically restructure itself.

Ryans heathcare bill was supposed to be a full repeal and replacement of ObamaCare, but many conservatives have abandoned Ryan’s bill, citing it keeps many of President Obama’s policies intact.

As a result, President Trump modestly went to Capitol Hill and urged congress and threatened their chances of reelection if they fail to launch.

Paul Ryan barely received an endorsement from Donald Trump given Ryan’s stigma of being a Republican In Name Only.

Enter Trey Gowdy, the man who publicly lambasted Hillary Clinton, Eric Holder, and James Comey.

NO,
Ryan has done his best to destroy conservatives.
And accepting obama care lite is horse crap.
I should not have to pay for every dead beats life.

NO way do I believe Gowdy is willing to take Ryan’s spot.
Trey Gowdy, like Jim Jordan, is content to stay in he present position, issuing sternly worded notes from time to time.
I doubt if he wants to take on some new heavyweight of a challenge , trying to work with an unusual president like Donald Trump. I have heard Gowdy may be interested in some sort of Judgeship.

To get rid of Obamacare you need to hit big labor and wall street...they both profit from Obamacare. So, somehow make them have to pay for a large chunk of it...then they will start lobbying for its repeal instead of its retention.

Or get a couple of good replacement justices on the court and get a case before them so they can judge it as unconstitutional.

He reminds me so much of this boss I use to have, this emotionless geek who had just enough brains to keep his heart and lungs working and that’s about it. The guy had absolutely zero concept of logic and common sense and zero concept of humor. You could tell him the funniest joke in the world and it would fly right over his head, and he ALWAYS made the easiest tasks harder than they needed to be just like this idiot Ryan. REPEAL AND REPLACE. Simple, but no, this idiot has to create another Obamacare. I was reading about his education: He’s only got a bachelors degree from Miami U in economics and Political science and we have him making up a health bill?? And he is speaker? The guy can’t even speak!! Joe Biden mopped the floor with him in that debate. HE NEEDS TO GO!! What baffles me about Trump is he always said “We need to get the stupid people out of Washington” THEN WHY IS HE KISSING RYANS ASS???

I do not think Trey Gowdy wants or would take the job. There are many more things he could do that would be more important.

The freedom caucus gave us Paul Ryan. They’re all a bunch of frauds. We need to draft Newt ASAP

I think their staunch opposition to Paul RINO's crap sandwich proves that they are not a bunch of frauds! But yeah .. their support of Paul RINO as Speaker was a "what the hell were you thinking" head scratcher of an event! But then, hindsight is always 20/20, although I always felt that Paul RINO himself was a big government, pro- open borders DimocRAT (which of course we know now, he is).

Just being honest about the chain of succession, I’d far rather have Gowdy lead the nation than Ryan. Ryan isn’t leader and seems uber timid.

Gowdy would fire someone up if he had to.

When I see Ryan on the news and he is talking away I feel there is something off about this guy. He is not all there. He is lying,he is compromised,he has a massive ego,he is bought and paid for. A real slimy weasel.

Ryan don’t worry, Trump will come to your defense.

“If Trump doesn’t recognize the conservatives standing on principle and begins to think they are his enemy he will find out about loyalty. Ryan and McWeasal will sell him out in the bat of an eye they have no principles except $$$.”

You know that, I know that, but I don’t think Trump knows..

Yes. That is what they should have done. Just repeal. Trump aligned with RINOS instead of conservatives and lost this battle. Oh well.

Now on to tax cuts. I am hopeful they get this one right.

I posted this on another thread; thought it might add something: How do we get past the 60 vote thing?

There are several ways, but this is the first attempt. I don't mean what just happened; that was the opening move on changing the entire congress.

Trump is 50 steps ahead, IMHO. He is absolutely brilliant, cunning, Machiavellian even (without the evil motives), and surrounded by brilliant, outside the box thinkers. They anticipated what just happened. Note what Trump did, and didn't do.

He did encourage the House to come up with the plan, backed it, did what he could to help, without putting his name on it as his.

He gave Ryan every chance in the world, supported him, helped where he could. Gave him everything he could. Yet Ryan failed huge, entirely on his own, in public, no one to blame but himself.

Now watch what happens: Ryan fires himself, with no threats or ultimatums from Trump. And is lauded, cheered, for taking one for the team, for falling on his sword. He goes out on a good note, but the message has been sent to everyone else.

Trump knows that with the current leadership attitude in the House and Senate, he won't accomplish 1/5 of what he wants. So either their attitude changes drastically, or they go. Must happen this year, the earlier the better. Ryan will fall on his sword, stay friends with Trump, and be cheered by everyone on the true right. In fact, it will bring them all together.

Which brings me to your question: Mitch will see what happened, and get the message: Change the Senate rules, become an all out street fighter, be put in the spotlight as a failure. Without an ultimatum. He will be sent the message: Get with the program 100%, or Trump will launch an invisible torpedo at his head, and when it explodes, Trump will have clean hands.

It will just happen, and Trump is causing it all. Brilliant chess players win the game on the first 6 moves. Sundance, are you paying attention?

Hell, we might as well put Nancy Pelosi back in as Speaker of the House, for all the good most of the RINOs have done lately. We might as well have some open opposition in Congress, as opposed to the mealy-mouthed, weasel-wording pansies that are allegedly on the same side as President Trump.

I read a story well over a year ago, back when Gowdy’s wordsmithing was first becoming a big hit, that he had no higher ambitions than where he is and would be content to depart DC. The story even included a photo of the OOOOld car that he drives to the Hill.

I would be surprised anything comes of this speculation, and I am a big Gowdy fan.

I am entering miss universe pageant as a 49 y.o. overweight man who has no talent usable in that portion of the pageant and I have better chance of becoming Miss Universe that Trey Gowdy has of becoming Speaker.

I like Gowdy but no way he gets enough rino votes to become Speaker

>>What did he really accomplish in all of those hearings?

What has he NOT done that you think he should have? He can’t make arrests or even charge anyone. He only fault is that he thought the House leadership would back him up and they haven’t.

But Gowdy’s JOB is scalps, and he has none.

As Trump said many times: “The politicians are ALL TALK NO ACTION.”

Can’t we all see the value of a proven business executive in public office?

Ryan and all the rest are thinkers, NOT DOERS.

WHERE CAN WE GET A DOER to work with Trump?
