RUMORS: If RyanCare fails, Trey Gowdy may replace Paul Ryan as Speaker of the House

With the likely failure of RyanCare on the horizon, the landscape of the Republican party may drastically restructure itself.

Ryans heathcare bill was supposed to be a full repeal and replacement of ObamaCare, but many conservatives have abandoned Ryan’s bill, citing it keeps many of President Obama’s policies intact.

As a result, President Trump modestly went to Capitol Hill and urged congress and threatened their chances of reelection if they fail to launch.

Paul Ryan barely received an endorsement from Donald Trump given Ryan’s stigma of being a Republican In Name Only.

Enter Trey Gowdy, the man who publicly lambasted Hillary Clinton, Eric Holder, and James Comey.

Trump was all in on this.

Have you considered that Trump may have feigned support for this bill, just to lead Ryan into the quicksand?

GOWDY UP!

I have no problem with Gowdy being 3rd in line of succession.

Ryan is disconnected with the People. Ryan is nothing more than an e-GOP hack. He tried to pull a quick one over on America at the request of medical industry lobbyists, the AMA, Insurance Companies and Big Pharm, who wanted a return to the honey wagon days when they took huge profit and ruined health care. Thank God Ryan failed.

Ryan has shown that he failed because he ignored the legislative input of the Freedom Caucus. This is more than enough reason to ask for Ryan’s resignation.

I believe the current bill proposed was the best chance to make the “first move” in a longer term repeal/replace strategy. The FC F*&ded us all. Thanks for nothing......>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

The Freedom Caucus prevented the handover of our health care system to Insurance Campanies and Big Pharm, who helped create the problems in the first place.

There would be no Phase II and Phase III.

Ryan needs to go , he failed to include the Freedom Caucus in the legislative process, ignoring requests to present amendments.

This was an e-GOP attempt to hoodwink the People. And the Freedom Caucus stopped them cold, thank God.

President Trump backed the wrong horse. He must not abandon his representation of the People for the crooked Insurance Lobby and Big Pharm.

BRING COMPETITION ACROSS STATE LINES OR STFU!

If the President was "all in" on this, then why did he issue an ultimatum for the House, demanding a vote today or he'd "move on"?
If he was truly "all in", he would have convinced them to keep negotiating and drag things on, desperate to put a different shade of lipstick on this pig of a bill.
Instead the President saw the writing on the wall, cut his losses, and what is the immediate fallout? They're already calling for a change in leadership in the House at the top.

Personally, I think Trump set Ryan up to show the world how big of a putz and elitist/establishment Ryan is. Now, there's rumors of Ryan being replaced. It might have all worked out best for us, and the country!

Bring Obamicare back up, in the near future, and REPEAL it first! (Like they did seven or eight times before) Which makes one wonder: If they sent seven or eight repeals to Obama to be signed, only to be vetoed, why didn't they send the same damn thing to President Trump to be signed?!!!!!

BRING COMPETITION ACROSS STATE LINES OR STFU!

That and Tort reform. Aside from repealing Obamacare, those are the ONLY two pieces of legislation that need consideration and action. Enable the free market to work it out.

“The Freedom Caucus helped Nancy Pelosi “?
That’s crap.
The The Freedom Caucus helped defeat a horse crap replacement bill.
The feds have NO business forcing citizens to purchase any damned thing.
I went to school. Studied hard and worked hard my whole life.
And now the feds make me take my earned money and pay for crap like abortions and care for those who failed to do such?
Ryan and the GOPe are crap.

“The Affordable Health Care Act is hereby repealed in its entirety.”

What was so difficult about that?

It's easy when you know BarryO is there to veto it. It's scary hard when you actually have to take responsibility for its effects. The GOP are now fully exposed as gutless poseurs and frauds. They never wanted to actually uproot ObamaCare; they just wanted credit for saying they were against it.

How many scalps has Trey Gowdy on his wall?

Ah, but he has hours of youtube sound bites of him being in high dudgeon (his one and only shtick).

Ryan never really wanted the job anyway.

"Please don't throw me into that briar patch," said Brer Ryan. You are dreaming if you think the careerist weasel Ryan didn't want to be Speaker.

I will be in the minority but I say no. I was impressed with Gowdy in the beginning..but he is all bark for sound bytes What did he really accomplish in all of those hearings? I like Jim Jordan

I second your opinion.

Lil Trey is a camera hound. When he found out that there was never a camera that he could not resist, it was game over for him.

His hearings were a side show and all he accomplished was to spend our money and learn to drag his feet DC style. We do not need a speaker that knows that NO stepping feet dragging.

Jim Jordan would work. President Trump and he may be able to play well together.

That horse crap replacement you talk about could have been changed and fine tuned in the Senate. But because of the Freedom Caucus and their lack of vision, Obama Care is here to stay! This was our one shot at repeal and replacement and as always we blew it.

That is the problem with Newt. He undermines his own usefulness. That nugget of usefulness is brilliance that has value—tremendous value. The Republicans should reach out to those men and groups of brilliance for this very important task. They are in the process of building a system that will determine the future health of millions of people. It is like building a system that takes man to the moon. The challenge is building a mechanism that unleashes the free enterprise system for the innovations and new cures that determine the advance of medicine in America.

We need the best minds involved in the process—people like Newt Gingrich . Maybe not as Speaker, but he can help with the legislative process that will get the legislation done. Others will give answers for the failures of this present legislation and correct what was needed. This is a daunting task, much like space travel. We need all hands on deck to get it done. What is created in the months ahead will lay the groundwork for healthcare for generations to come.

What the Democrats rammed down our throats was a disaster because it was top down Big Government on steroids. It was Communism. They really stepped in it.

This nation cannot afford to create another disaster because they pitted Big Government against free enterprise and did not engage the best minds for the answers.

I think “Republican in name only” has lost all meaning and should be retired. Ryan, whatever his faults, has been quite partisan and aggressive in pushing what have been mainstream GOP priorities. RINOs were people who wouldn’t vote for cuts in government spending.
