My mother in law (now deceased) and her family, less ‘Opa’, spent a good part of the last few years of the war in an interment camp because ‘Opa’ refused to fight for the nazis. They “made” him a cook regardless. To hear the stories that my mother in law and her sister use to tell was heart wrenching. Somehow, after they were liberated, they managed to find everybody. So, when some assclowns speak of “nazis” Mrs. rktman gets just a little incensed. Just a little.

Perhaps at this phase of the process the term “brown shirts” might be more appropriate.

Our SIL is a German. Her father was a conscripted soldier
under Hitler during WWII. Captured by the Russians. (They
hoped to be captured by the Americans instead.) Daddy was
a draftee in the 88th/351st Army Infantry in N. Africa,
Italy & Germany during the war. He escaped being taken a
prisoner, but was wounded, had his backpack shot clean off
while crossing a stream. Marched through Berlin just a
few minutes after Hitler committed suicide rather than face
them. Daddy was shell shocked all to blazes; had flashbacks
for many years after the war. Nervous as a cat a lot of the
time; talked a lot about ANYTHING but the war. Most of my
classmates’ parents were younger than my parents; so I had
zero friends who understood and have maintained no contact
with any of the snowflakes from that era of my life. My
husband has thought I was somehow remiss in not TRYING to
gee and haw with that dynamic; but I had nothing in common
with them & didn’t need to stress of even the occasional
social la-de-da of that situation. Fang’s folks were in
business in that little town; and when he & I married,
some of the mothers of the little gals in that school
remarked that “why” should he be daring to marry me because
I hadn’t even “graduated from high school” - which was a
LIE as Fang well knew because he attended my high school
graduation and saw me receive my diploma. LYING seemed to
be a trademark of that little gossip hole that we came
from. Oh, well. Ancient history that I do not struggle with
any more, and surprisingly, neither does Fang at this
point.

My mother now an “Oma” survived Berlin with the NAZIS, then the Russians. And yes hearing the American alt left snowflakes compare us to NAZIS is infuriating.

FYI MSM, NAZIS are not far right. They are far left. They are only a little right of Communists.
